I'm on 1700 mg. amoxycillin and 500 mg. zithromax daily (3 of those days iv zith, the other 4 oral).

Tested with Igenex, 6 pos banns in the igm and three in the igg, igg low pos for ehrlichia and

bartonella. I went for a 2nd opinion on treatment with another doc that wanted with

different lab - know it's based on symptoms which are enough to say I'm positive, but tested with

Stony Brook and had neg in the igm (93bann) and 2 in the igg (18 and 41). Negs on all co-

infections. Doc wanted to take another spect to see if iv rocephin for 6 mos made a difference in

moderate global hypoperfusion. Took that one in January and my insurance won't pay for the 2nd.

can't afford it to compare. I think I should save
money on testing and put toward treatment. How

can labs be so different in results?

Has anyone done zithro and amoxy combo? Just got computer accessible. I wasn't on lymenet in a

while and hope everyone has had some good days in between this hell. Test results always plant

the seed in my head that maybe the symptoms, because lyme mimics so many diseases, is

something else and the meds are side effects, not symptoms. That's how I feel today after

results. It just gets discouraging as you all know not seeing results after so much treatment,

3 hospitalizations this year and different physical things coming from no where. (v-tac

cardiac, low sodium after rocephin...) and mentally live in depersonalization. I guess I

should be grateful that I've had some decent days - some don't even get that.

Take care and be well,
Cigi [confused]

Hi Cigi,

So sorry you are not doing well, but glad you have had some decent days.

Have you been treated for any co-infections?
Sometimes you need to find the right combo of abx that will work for you.

I haven't done the Zithromax/ Amoxy combo, just Zithromax/Plaquenil and Malarone.

I hope you find the answers soon, I wish I could offer more.
Good luck to you. [Smile]

Thanks for your response Beverly. Maybe the doc working with mine can help figure out what might help put me on the mend. What is malarone used for? My son was on plaquenil and oral zithromax for his lyme, so I am familiar with plaquenil. I'm waiting to hear what his next step is because he has iritis and he's off treatment for the last 3/4 months. Thanks God no symptoms like he used to. His blood work shows autoimmune inflammation.

Thanks Janet for bringing mine up. Hope you are having some good in between.

Be well all,
Cigi [hi]
