Hi i am wondering if any of you have ever gotten a bruise from a shot that has lasted for over 3 months that never went away from the lyme disease? DO you know if it is not healing because of the lyme or could this be another problem on top of the lyme? All responses greatly appreciated . Thanks Tammy

I know 3 people who are having trouble with 'permanent bruising' who are on Lyme therapy. It's suspected to be from their therapy, and not from Lyme per se.

There's residual blood left in the tissues that the body doesn't clear completely which causes the discoloration... why it's not cleared I don't know.

I had bruising after a vitamin c drip that lasted months, but it is gone now. The healing was very slow, but it did heal.

In my case I think the viamin c burned my veins.

I get bicillin injections on a weekly basis. In the four months of this abx I've only noticed one small bruise at injection site on hip. It went away in a matter of days.

Recently I've noticed another long lasting bruise on my elbow crease where 11 viles of blood were pulled a month ago.

For a bruise to last weeks I think is strange. Am I mistaken? I think I must have bad veins.
Bruises in other areas heal quicker on me.

Any thoughts?

Pre-lyme I had surgery requiring IV insertion in the top of my left hand.....this person botched the vein finding over and over.

I ended up with a lemon sized bruise on the top of my hand for almost a year....so yes, I agree with Barb on this one. It could be residual blood that the tissues haven't cleared.
