My eyes give me problems from time to time. Lately they are acting up again-feel like they are a little blurry or out of focus. Gets especially tough when I am at the computer. Yet when I go to the eye dr (opthalmologist), they can't find anything wrong (no big surprise). Ive had tons of tests done on them too. After a few days, it usually returns to normal then starts to act up again within a few months.

Optic neuritis has been completely ruled out but just curious if anyone else gets this and if you have found anything (supplement wise) that kinda helps?

There are a lot of similarities between yours and mine case.

I also suffered the described eye symptom but with treatment this symptom is getting smaller.
Likely it is an eye herx but to be sure have your eyes examined from time to time.

I spend my days at the computer also.

LLMD told me it was muscles getting tired, despite wearing tinted glasses at the pc (and having 20/20 vision).

Put a drop of peppermint oil on your finger and dab it above each eyebrow. Refreshes the muscle.

With time this will pass. [Cool]

Yes, I have eye problems. My eye doc's mom has fibromyalgia (as I do) and she says that it is common to have good eye days, and bad eye days.

Since my diagnosis I have developed astigmatism in my right eye, and vitreous detachment in my left (floaters) I have a permanent bling spot in the corner of my left eye.

Now I'm on Clarithromyacin, vibramycin and plaquenil and my LLMD said that it was necessary to have eyes tested every six months to make sure there is no retinal problems. Might be a good idea for anyone taking lots of meds.

Well today,it is really bad! My eyes are kinda blurry and they hurt. Im on Rifampin--don't think that could cause it? last time I had a bad spell was 6 mos ago (with my eyes) and that lasted almost 2 months. Then I was only on Nortriptiline. Im wondering why the rifampin would cause that though????

I'm currently learning Meir Schneider's system for self healing.

He cured himself of blindness at age 17! And he went on to develop exercises for the whole body as well and has helped many people regain strength, flexibility, mobility etc as well as improving eye related conditions. It's helping me tons with energy, stamina and increased sense of health.

He has books, cd's, classes all over and especially a kit for the eyes. Go to selfhealing.org or just search under his name to find out more.

I can't say enough good things about his system. It's one of the best discoveries I've made and wish I had known about him much much sooner.

I have vision problems also. Everything either looks like its made up of millions of tiny dots or I get drunk vision. It may be a problem more so with the way your brain is processing incoming stimuli rather than a problem with the eyes. Maybe a little of both. Try being very physically active like running up and down a flight of stairs-it usually is corrected this way.

i can relate to your eye problems, i too have eye problems that come and go, they hurt like from the inside out and have a sort of a blurry effect hard to describe....my eyes was the one thing that led to my dx of lyme, the dr said i had retinal nuertis (?) and he said my other sx's swelling of the eyes, inside and out, back then and like now the pain, not focusing right, blurred vision and also sometimes even a black out for a half a second, is very scary. i been back to the specialist they say all i can do is get steroid drops, which i used in the beginning before i was even dx and then they wanted to give my a steriod shot in the eye, by then i knew i had lyme and even w/o knowing a shot in your eye...yuck! have you been too a specialist, ai had to go see a retinal eye clinic, referred by (? can't think of their names not reg eye dr.. the specialist ones. maybe that may help.

good luck and best wishes in health and happiness, myjesticgirl

Hello Nancy!!

Miss lightfoot has had the same kind of problems. The descriptions you all give is the same as she has described. This went on for well over ten years and many many opthamologists latter and zero findings, bingo, Lyme!!!

She has gotten a lot better with treatment and has been able to drive at night evenest!!

I've had some eye problems too....mostly the Rx in one eye changes at will from day to day.

Good luck and hang in there....this episode could be a herx. If I remember correctly, Miss lightfoot has gone through that.

My eyes would get tired and achey when my muscle pain was the worst. I really think it was related to the muscle tightness I had in my neck and shoulders.

I started wearing glasses just before my Lyme treatment started. But I don't think it is directly related, because I had Lyme undiagnosed for so many years. However, they couldn't get a prescription for me through refractions. I kept contradicting myself, and finally my eyes just hurt too much to continue.

Many medicines can cause eye problems as well. My vision was blurriest when I took Vicodin. I've mentioned difficulty with light and blurriness to my opthamologist. He said it is difficult to say what the cause is, because I am on so many medications for my age. But I get checked for field of vision because of Plaquenil and retina damage every 6 months to be safe.

Finally, reactivie arthritis can cause iritis which is an inflammation of the eye.

eye symptoms that come and go in a pattern can often be caused by bartonella....you may want to talk with your llmd about being treated...runny eyes, itchy eyes, pink eye, pain ineyes etc...bart
