Hi all...and thx in advance for your feedback & help!
I am feeling pain increase in my left calf and down to my heel (assuming Plantar tendon).
I'm currently on Mepron/Zith/Clindamycin combo.
Do you have any suggestions on supplements that may help alleviate the muscle/tendon pain?
Thx again...Bill

Yeah, I had a plantar exised early on in my treatment...left arch...
What you may be experiencing is what I did on the clindamycin... I had iv clinda...not too long ago and had the same calf pains you're probably experiencing...
fleuroquinalones(like leviquin) can cause tendonitis also...
Just part of the diseas and recovery...some may tell you to get off th clindo...some might tell you to take a supp of mag or potasium...but then those may interfere with your meds...
I'm sure someone else will come along to help more.......zman

I would use aromatherapy and/or heat. Lavendar oil is an excellent, soothing remedy and you can use it straight.
I do take calcium/mag supplement for muscle cramps, but I would check to see whether that interferes with your abx.
Good Luck!

Magnesium helps alot. You can take Mag Tab SR http://www.niche-inc.com/niche/magtab.html or get a RX for injections from your LLMD. Cartilage formula from PHARMANEX also helps alot. TENS unit may help too. Lots of plant and fish oils to lubricate things and lessen inflammation. Hope you feel better!

Vitamin D can be a big help. You may want to test your level first. I was very low. My pain is severe enough to require narcotic management, and I still noticed definite improvement, particularly in the lower back and neck, when I'd been supplementing with D for a while.
Ran out, waited for measly SSI check to reorder, noticed some resurgence of breakthrough pain in lower back, vamoosed after a few days back on D. If you decide to do this, I would be sure to get plain cholecalciferol and titrate up 400IU at a time.
I think antioxidants can also be a big help, particularly if you're doing even mild physical-therapy type exercise.

Photon Stimulation helps my pain. The machine I use is manufactured by Bales Scientific and uses infrared light to reduce inflammation, increase circulation and bring about relief, sometimes permanent.
I was introduced to it by an MD, used it a few times with the guidance of a practioner and then decided to buy one. Like anything else however, you have to be careful in the begining. Make sure it works for you and your specific condition.
I think it makes some folks herx.

Mag-Tab SR does the trick for me. I was off it for quite a few months because I couldn't afford it and, boy did I feel so much worse. I swear every muscle in my body rebelled. Now I've been back on it for a few weeks and at least that part of my Lyme symptoms aren't screaming anymore. Check with your doc first though, OK? Good Luck.
