myjesticgirl5,

I get 2.4 mill. units every Friday (4ml), plus I'm on Zithro, Mepron, and pulse w/Tinidazole on weekends.

Two shots per week isn't too much (as long as the are each 2 ml - 1.2 mill. units) but you may feel like crap - herxing - (but that means it is working).

I also feel pretty crappy, but that is pretty par for the course for me [shake]

I have learned that we all tolerate meds differently... I am one who is VERY drug sensitive and have never been able to tolerate all the huge high dose combos. I still have gotten better and have made progress.

I have never done more than 1.2 million IU bicillan every 7 to 10 days....b/c I just cannot tolerate more. Now that my bacterial load is down I am able to add more things into the mix...

It depends on the way your body rids toxins as well.

Slow and steady won the race for me...not feeling like heck for months on end...that seemed to never get me anywhere...

I think listening to your body is your best bet, and also discussing how you feel with your LLMD.

I herx...and I herx...and I herx.

Mainly in the cheeks and then jaw....constant herx.

I did Bicillin LA 1.2 MU three times a week.
I also did it at 2.4 MU twice a week.
I did all my own shots, you just need to have a nurse show you how to do them.
make sure when you get them they are kept in the fridge.
Bicillin plus that Biaxin is a good combination, and in my opinion and experience, not too much. i took three injections a week, and 2000 mg Biaxin a day. It takes a bit to work up to that dose, and the herxing can be intense. Hang in there! [group hug]

thank you all so much for your info, i will stay on this and give it my best shot, hopefully the herx won't last too long or be too bad. i just gotta keep thinking if i feel crappy it means them bugs are being killed....and that's a GREAT thing.

i wish you all the best in health and happiness, [Wink] myjesticgirl

I started out at twice a week and stuck with it for 3 weeks but the herx was too intense. The LLMD told me to back off to once a week & try to go to shorter intervals between shots. It takes a while . I had to stop all bicillin for 10-11 days until the intense herx passed. Best to check with your LLMD. But for me the turtle wins the race.

I inject 1.2 IU once a week going on five months now. I herx and am making good progress, thankfully.

I don't take anything else with it. However I was on other abx combos for 2 years prior so I think that got my bacterial load down.

Also I'm fairly petite. I think 1.2 IU once a week is a good dose for someone of my size.

Christine has good advice. I was doing 2.4 once a week. I now do 2.4 for 2 weeks, then take a full week off to help my gut heal. The break every 2 weeks seems to be helpful. I am pretty small and the meds can hit me pretty hard. Slow is better for me.

I am on 1.2 once a week along with Ketek and tinidizole (tini is every other week).

I am about 130 pounds so maybe that is why Im only on 1.2?

It has workd wonders for me along with the other meds Im on. I feel it on Sundays (when Im due for my shot on Mondays)
