I'm on mepron 1 tsp. 2x a day, zithromax 500 (1/2 the week orals, the other 3 days iv) and amoxycillin 875 mg. 3x day. (a total of 2625 mg total.) Does anyone take amoxycillin and if you do, how much for lyme? Zithromax is for bart and mepron for babesia.

Be well,
Cigi

Hi Cigi,

My son is on the same dose of amoxicillin and
zithromax. No mepron...

I think it is helping him, but it is such a slow process that it is hard to tell.

Hope this combo works for you!

Suz

Hi there!
I am taking 5,50mg Amoxy with 1000mg Biaxin and 400 Plaquinal. It was only when I increased my dosage of Amoxy from initial 3000mg to approximately 4500mg that I did a complete turnaround. That is when my brainfog lifted! Subsequently, I increased it by 500mg every two weeks under guidance from my doctor, and have been improving ever since.

I do believe that the higher you can go with Amoxy, the better it is able to penetrate brainwise. For me, it has been a great drug. [Smile]

I used up to 27 g per day. Currently I am on a lower level of 12 g per day.

3 g per day didn't do anything for me. Later I have increased the doses and each time after an increase it evoked a powerful herx.
The more, the better I guess.
I tolerate this ABX amazingly well.

Hi Cigi.

I am on Amoxicillin 1000 mg three times a day. Each dose is accompanied by 500 mg of Probenecid (or 1500 mg daily), which my LLMD says keeps it in your system longer.

Seems to work well for me and much better tolerated by my stomach than doxycycline. Gave me headaches from he!! for 17 straight days when I first got on it so I guess that was a good sign! They tapered down and things are better now. I have no co-infections, just neuro Lyme.

I was prescribed 3 grams (six 500 mg caps) twice a day of amoxicillin, together with 500 mg of clarithromycin (..'biaxin'..), twice a day. But I wasn't on the atovaquoneat the same time. So it might be ok, especially if babesia is suspected.

These dosages blow my mind!

I thought that my son's 875mg was kind of nuclear.

Always learning here...

Hey Cigi,

I pray this works for you.
When I did Amoxicillin, I did 2500mg three times/day. I had a peak and trough done and couldn't achieve a high enough level to cross BBB without using Probenecid (allergic to sulfa)

I was also doing Zith 250 twice daily, Mepron, Plaquenil at the time.

Good Luck to you and yours
