Absolutely yes!! My right hip joint was extremely painful..I had it xrayed many times and nothing showed up. At first I could draw my knee up to my chest and it would kind of readjust and I could walk...

A year ago I woke up with severe right shoulder pain. Couldn't lift my hand above my shoulder or push open a car door with that arm.
Now, my shoulder is better, and my left hip hurts a goodly amount, but on and off. Thank goodness it was intermittant for our last car trip!
Best wishes to your wife for some relief!

Yes, I have a warm burning pain in my right hip -- never the left. In my case it is synovitis, inflammation of the membrane that covers the hip joint/bone.
In my experience, over-the-counter pain killers make no difference. However, stretching exercises can be helpful.

I had horrendous pain in my left hip in the early 1980s. I didn't think I was infected with LD at the time. In hindsight, I very well may have been. It disappeared as quickly as it came.
I hope your wife is getting thorough antibiotic treatment from an LLMD.

I went through a lot of that. One cause was that I was taking fluoroquinolone antibiotics - Cipro, Avelox, are some. It took a long time, but I found out that those drugs can cause severe tendonitis and even ruptured tendons. that was the worst! (in my left hip.)
If you suffer that, you need to rest, not use physical therapy. That is the only way the tendon can heal. Using a cane is a good idea, if needed.
A good chiropracter is a help in addition to anti-inflamatories such as Advil. Taking them on a regular basis is the best idea. Can really help.

The type of hip pain I've had is an arthritic type of pain. It made it hard for me to walk, but usually I also had knee and/or ankle and/or foot pain which also compromised my walking ability.
I haven't had it since starting on abx recently, but maybe it's just another herx away.
This disease has affected just about every part of my body. hands, arms, shoulders, back, neck, head, face, brain, abdomen, eyes...it has no limits.

Yes, I have severe hip pain at times. It appears to be related to inflammation in my sacroiliac joints, which are lower back. They refer pain, but also have caused tight muscles throughout the hip area.
What has helped is Flexeril, a muscle relaxer. I started at 5mg a night and increased to 30 mg over a month. I also work with a physical therapist who specializes in manipulation and myofascial release. He's excellent, any old pt won't do.

Both my hips hurt. My left hip tends to hurt worse than my right, but my right hip dislocates... sometimes while I'm in the middle of walking. I have a wheelchair in my home for when I need it. My gait has been affected at times because of this. Last winter I couldn't even lift my legs. I had to shuffle around, plus I was bent over because of the severe back pain. No pain relievers worked. I try yoga to stretch out the joints, and rest as much as possible. I'm 24 years old, and sometimes I walk like I'm a 94 y/o woman with osteoporosis.
