curious to know if being on abx for a long time will cause your skin to age faster. I know they make your skin very sun sensitive. I'm very careful to stay out of the sun and if I do go out, to wear sunblock, but still... anyone? thoughts? experience in this? thanks.

I've been on abx for 18 months, and I have great skin. I look a good few years younger than my age.
My friends warned me of all the wrinkles I'd get around my eyes when I turned 30. I hardly have any.
It could be that I'm kept young by my 2 black cats who look just like yours!

I've noticed a little bit of aging--could be worse, I guess. Here's me and my buddy celebrating my 29th:
But seriously -- I'm 48, and I think I look older. I have fragil Irish skin and was doomed to early wrinkles, but I think LD and abx for the last 17 years has hurried things along.

antibiotics clear up your skin. The Lyme if anyting will age you quicker then the abx

I've noticed a lot of wrinkles & sagging skin over the past year that I didn't have previously. Not sure if it's the antibiotics or lack of estrogen.

Well, I am not posting pictures...I know that I usually look a lot better than I feel.
I have lost that last 10 lbs on anti-yeast diet where I can't eat things I love and go crazy on.
I used to care a lot more about how I looked. I do look better, but I keep thinking that it is like that commercial where there is really bad stuff happening BUT I saved on my insurance.

Like Suz, I'm not posting photos, but I've lost about 15 pounds since starting Lyme tx (just completely lost my taste for food). My skin seems to have benefitted from all the new vitamins, etc.
Before I was dx, I was starting to get really dragged down looking, especially in my face. There are some lines around my mouth, but I'm not sure they're unexpected in someone my age.
Someone saw me at the farmer's market the other day and said I look 10 years younger. Just another bizarre twist on the road to Lyme recovery!

I'm 54 and though I've always taken good care of my facial skin, I gave in and got myself a "mini-lift" this summer. I lost a great deal of weight and my neck was looking turkeyish.
Of course, I was operated on by a board certified plastic surgeon. No matter what I would've done, the droopy neck would be right there staring me right in my face.
No, that is NOT me in any of the pictures. The surgery went so well, I may have something else done next year.
Having this procedure done was my mother's reward for me having quit smoking in January, this year. Since the doc would not do it unless I was smoke-free, that was a good incentive for me quiting.
Anyway, I believe that being on long-term antibiotics is a good thing for your skin. My skin is so good now, blemish wise, just got some droop when I had a weightloss...but, I've gained a lot of the weight back since I quit smoking.

I *almost* wish it would make my skin look more aged or saggy or something.
I have been told I look 10 yrs younger than my true age. (Not telling!)
The worst part is that people tell me how well and good I look all the time. Which of course seems to indicate I must be feeling well and not be sick. Grrrrr..... I gather the stereotype is that Lyme patients all look so well. One of the reasons it is hard to be taken seriously.
