Hey Guys,
What is the average time you were ill for, before finding out for sure, no questions asked, that you had lyme??
I have been ill for just over a year now, been on meds four times, felt good at some times, like it went away, then came back...I have stopped today for seven days so I can send a test to Igenex, then back to the Amox, 1500mg's a day..I have felt my energy increase at times, then other times, I felt like crap! I guess this must be the herx. If I do too much physical activity, I may become burnt out, but usually after a solid nights sleep, I am feeling better. My legs seem to vibrate more these days, maybe because they are dying and making me suffer a bit...It did stop mostly for a few weeks, then comes back...I see the LLMD on Nov, 9.

I would have to say about 20 years before diagnosis and 2 years of treatment.

It is unbelieveable how this bacteria can stay long wothout dying or killing host. I wonder how it happens, does it contols it`s population in a body ? if body can kill it somehow than why do not kill it to the end, eradicate to zero?

I was very fortunate. 10 days after coming down with flu-like symptoms, fatigue and unbelievable pain in all my joints, I went to my PCP and told him I thought I had food poisoning because something very bad was attacking my body.
He listened to all my symptoms and told me, no does't sound like food poisoning, I think it could be lyme disease. Told me not to worry, we caught it early. Started me on the doxy by the old doc book. Added amox, ampicillian, zitro in there the first 2 months.
It was too late. Chronic stages from the onset. That was summer of 99. As bad as it's been, I can't even image going through all that and not having any answers or support for years like most of you. God blessed with a lyme literate doc, he just couldn't fix it. He tried.
Take care, Pam

Sick about 8 months now. Determined Bb, Babs 2 months after tick discovered from all the symptoms and available test results (joke). At this point I realized that complete idiots and dishonest SOBs are licensed to practice medicine in Oregon. I don't know how many times I mentioned the tick, the rash, etc. to (so called) physicians here and getting blank stares for my efforts. This is Oregon with elk and deer running everywhere and certain areas are just infested with ticks.
Thank god for this site and others like it. The accumulated knowledge here is absolutly priceless, the quackes in Oregon have none.

It's really just a quess but over 30 years. Had a lot of misdiagnosis and symptoms treated but dx'd with MS 3 years ago. I told the duck something has got to be causing me to be sick for sooooo looooong so will you run some tests? No! Or try a month of antibiotics such as Doxy to see if it helps me? No!
So Bye Bye to the duck who quacks whatever the BigPharma Cartel tells him to quack! I'm just starting treatment with a LLMD who dx'd Lyme 3 weeks ago.
