Hi,

Does anyone out there have experience with wellbutrin side effects?

My 14yr old started it 150mg in am last Thursday.
Since then, her equilibrium is worse to the point where she is in bed and afraid to take a shower. Also she said she is "leaning to one side" which is the thing that is scaring me more.
Also, muscle weakness and legs not working.

We are starting picc soon which I am counting on to knock out this nuero stuff!

The nurse at her LLMD said that she looked up side effects of wellbutrin and didn't see dizziness. Said that we should talk to the sleep dr. about coming off wb as one should stop cold turkey. The pills are CR so I can't cut them.

My plan is to discontinue as she has been on for such a short time and it seems so detrimental.
She is really sensitive to meds. She feels like it is "messing with her" and wants to stop taking it.

Has anyone experienced the sort of problems above as a med side effect?

Thanks,
Suz

Replying to myself. Did I mention I have lyme?

Also, my daughter had some different visual problems for first time today. Something looked double for a short time. I think not double vision exactly...

You can always call a pharamcist and dicuss side effects and whether it is ok to stop cold turkey. It might be that she should switch to every other day, before just completely stopping.

That said, I believe I tried Wellbutrin, but I don't remember. I tried a number of antidepressants to control pain when I had a fibro diagnosis. I had a number of odd side effects from antidepressants, ranging from insomnia, fatigue, hot flashes and uncontrolled movements.

My advice is to listen to your daughter. If she says she feels weird, then the drug is doing something that makes her uncomfortable. It often takes a number of different drugs before finding an antidepressant that works.

I've been on Welbutrin for a couple of years and I've never had side effects like that. Those are pretty extreme effects! If I were you I would take your child off of it immediatly. Even if the Dr says it can't possibly be causing those symptoms, I would still have my doubts. I had one sleeping pill that made me hallucinate and they swore that the medicine couldn't possibly be causing it. Yeah right! There's no reason to suffer with side effects like those on an antidepressant. There are other alternative drugs to try.
