Had Lyme 17 years- may have been re-infected with Bart. Did 7 weeks Avelox and Doxy for Bart ( although I am hearing this may be insuffient)
Now my LLMD is testing the waters. I took Ketek for one week, (with doxy) and now Tindamax for one week 250 mg 3X daily. I took one dose of tini and then 7 hrs later got severe burning and swelling in my hands and some hand and knee joint pain. Had neuropathy elsewhere as well like my back. I gave myself a 1.5 day break from the Ketek. Taking large doses of B's vitamins already. I had the burning hands with ketek in June and that was mixed with Sulphur at that time and Mepron for Babs that I had to stop due to severe herxes. (By the way- highly functional for 6 years and started having symptoms again 1 year ago) Was away from it all and didnt know about Bart, and cysts!
I guess my question is if hypothetically you got rid of all forms of Lyme, would the cysts cause you symptoms? I am assuming that I possibly got rid of some cysts with Tini dose and the Doxy and residual Ketek killed them.
So confusing. Not sure where my doctor is going with this. I am assuming he is looking to see which can be better tolerated and get the chete load down and then go bust cysts? He is good, but wants to be the coach and not big on answwering questions- lol Anyway- have seen improvement in cognitive in week and half, but going slow on the Tini. Only took 250 mgs yesterday. Gonna try 250 mgs twice today. I would imagine that it would be smart to take Ketek and then a cyst buster alternately? I cant handle more than 2 drugs at a timeand doxy is tolerable form me. Ketek and Tini would be too much at once even pulsed I think.

Maybe I am reading you wrong.... But it doesn't sound like you have been on abx long enough to kill anything!
If you can tolerate the dosage of meds your on now then do it. If not then cut it back. I would myself get back on the Babs meds, but you can take low doses of them and they will still work. My sister is taking a childs dose. It has helped her greatly.
