Hi all,

I've just started taking 400mg a day of Doxycycline and 100mg a day of Fluconazole. Is this a good approach to tackling Lyme? I don't want one to cancel out the efficacy of the other. (I'm not sure how long I've had Lyme - anywhere between 1 and 3 months)

Many thanks,

Paul

Paul,
It seems that people who have only been infected several months have a good possibility of cure with the dosages you are getting. Some people have taken 600 mg. of Doxy and that MIGHT provide a higher level of treatment and prevention of chronic Lyme, that many of us here have. Others hould be along to offer comments.

Hi Paul,

Sorry to hear that you have Lyme- but great that most likely you've caught it quite early on-

I too caught it early-...once you start feeling better, don't slip in taking extra good care of yourself- lots of rest, stay light on the carbs, very light on the alcohol etc.

I tried to go on living exactly like I did prior to Lyme- and I believe as a result, it's taken me longer to heal- I am now at 1 year and I was on Doxy 6 weeks after my bite.

for most of this past year- it's felt like I'm almost better, but then I don't get over that hurdle-

Don't want to frighten you- perhaps it's something else that is causing me not to heal so quickly-

Be good to yourself now and you won't regret it!

I don't know enough about antifungals-sorry,
I'm sure someone with more knowledge on this will contribute.

Take care,
Sarah

I take Nystatin with Doxy. For some reason my LLMD is not a fan of Diflucan while on Doxy, but I don't recall the reasoning. In any event, I was on 400mg of Doxy and I think it is wise to take an anti-fungal.

Be well,
Scott

THere is also a new protocol being touted by a German doctor that suggest cycling between the anit-fungal and the anit-biotic. He suggest that the antifungal somehow makes the keets more suscepbtable to the aontibiotices, thus making them, more effective. There have been a couple of threads on here about it. Do a search on Diflucan.
Best of luck.
