Hi

I am trying to get my doc to give me stronger pain killers cos nothing else is working anymore. I am currently taking codine and tylenol and it doesnt touch the pain anymore. Oxycodone is one of the few stronger ones that is available in australia so i am looking at it cos I dont want morphine and fentanyl and Tramadol make me sick.

My doc is concerned about dependance and needing to continue uping the dose as well as side effects. I was hoping those of you who have taken it could share your experiences so that I could further talk to my doc and see if this is the right thing for me. I am about to start iv abx so I really need something stronger soon

Thanks
ozcat

Ozcat,

I finally found a doctor who would give me something stronger for pain than Ultracet and the like. I've been taking Oxycodone for about 6 months. I only take 7.5 mg. and I usually don't take it in the morning.

I know some people take much stronger doses but I find it makes me feel too "out of it" if I do.

When I'm feeling well I don't take it (which isn't very often) and I watch out that I'm not taking too much.

Hope this helps you,

Sandy
