I was wondering if anyone knows if a date is set

for Zithromax to have a generic. I thought one

of the girls at Dr J's office mentioned that

awhile back. But I haven't found any one that

knows. Thanks!

Patent expired in most european countries in 2005/2006. In the US i wouldnt't know but i suppose around the same time... Prices are still sky-high in eu even for the generic. Not much difference there....

US patent expires in 2006. Whether the Pfizer will somehow extend the patent & whether a generic will be immediately available is an unknown until the final expiration.
