MY SYMPTOMS OF L. SIDED CRANIAL/FACIAL PAIN, HYPERACUSIS, & SEVERE LIGHT SENSITIVITY COME TOGETHER IN WHAT I REFER TO AS A "FLAREUP". IT LASTED FOR 6WKS. THIS LAST TIME. IT IS TOTALLY DISABLING TO THE POINT THAT I COULD ONLY TOLERATE A 1-ON-1 CONVERSTATION & ONLY IF YOU DON'T SPEAK TOO LOUD OR FAST OR QUESTION ALOT. i use an ear plug as needed. I HAVE TO WEAR SUNGLASSES, POLARIZED NOW, EVEN IN THE HOUSE.
MY NEW READING GLASSES ARE THE DARKEST YOU CAN GET.
I REALLY NEED TO KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE ALSO HAVE ENCOUNTERED THIS. ALL TESTING COMES UP NEGATIVE for MS & LYME.
THANKS. [bonk] [bonk] [bonk]

I have visual and auditory issues too. For a long time I was very sensitive to light, particularly light shining through glass, both in the car and at home, it was something about the glare. Couldn't watch images on tv that changed quickly (like commercials). Have trouble talking to people in a group, or just talking to anybody in person for more than a few minutes, I feel like I need a break. These issues have mostly subsided with treatment.

Deliellee,

Although the light sentivity is not as bad as it was, I still have some. I also can't tolerate people talking fast and loud. And the comment about TV makes sense to me because I hate commercials since they make me really nervous. [Eek!] and [dizzy]

Also, there are days like today when it is much worse because I crave light and sunshine for my mood and yet it bothers me to be in bright light.
[Cool]

This is the first graemlin post for me.

best,

i too sufferred from light sensitivity & sound snesitivity. I actually had to quit a job I loved due to the sound. The noise got to me so much I vommitted nightly on the way home.

Light sensitivity was awful...couldn't look at blinking Christmas lights would get eye migraines. (what I called them) Even just being in a room with Chritmas lights wether I looked at them or not was unbearable.

Since starting lyme treatments this has become no problem. Hope it abates for you.

I have all what was stated above for 35 years!

allergic to lights, glare, & reflections ... like looking directly at the sun.....

noise/sounds drive me up a wall

I've been treated with abx since 7-04 when I was correctly diagnosed with chronic lyme.

May I suggest you go to this other site for some really good reading info & suggestions on how they cope?

www.marshallprotocol.com and look for EASY FINDER by Aussie Barb. She's taken a lot of time & put similiar topics together in one heading.

I ordered the NOIR sunglasses they refer to! They have helped me tremendously. If you decide to order them by phone, mention the marshall protocol and they will give you a DISCOUNT! They have even have a guarantee on their PLASTIC lenses! Good luck.

I used to have accomodation problems: couldn't see well in dark nor could handle small prints.

With ABX my vision has dramatically improved. I feel my eyes are ten years younger.

These darn keets live in our eyes and break things down.

This is a good indication of sickness. Try Bowen lab for a test for lyme. I had severe light sensitivity. Had about a 7 [ on a ten scale] prior to starting the MP, then during first 6 months had 9.5, could not drive at night, without problems, then as I healed it got much better and then after a year or so, all light sensitivity went away. For some it is a good indicator of sickness level. It will get better, as you heal.

Years ago I had bad light sensitivity. I would wear sunglasses everywhere. No they are not so bad in the bright light (except it makes the floaters worse) but my night vision has really gone downhill.

light sensitivity is very common as others have posted. In my case it is made worse by my ABX side effects.
Are you on abx? because in my case this makes my problem twice as bad.
I bought a pair of tinted glasses to wear in the house.
Best wishes dana

I have the visual and auditory issues too, but not as severe as yours. I don't have to wear sun glasses in the house, but I do outside even on cloudy days.

I am very sensitive to smells too. The garden dept in stores about kills me.
