The last couple of days I've had very little taste, or else an all-over very bitter taste. Has anyone experienced this? The doc said it could be from the abx, so I've backed off the Zithromax and Mepron but am still IVing.
I think I've read that this can be because the liver is overwhelmed.... anyone?

Things simply taste weird to me. I know part of it is the smell: my olfactory sense is so exaggerated that I can't even get close to some foods that used to be favorites.
I'm eating funny, bland foods since it doesn't seem to make a difference anyway: sweet things just taste sweet, with no discernable difference in flavors, etc.
I suspect it's also the antibiotics. I'm on ceftin, which is unbearably bitter.
And, as you said, Paige, probably my liver too.
I just know I once enjoyed cooking and was pretty good at it. I don't trust my sense of taste enough to do it anymore.
Since the beginning of the summer, i've lost 19 pounds. Now I'm wearing those "someday" pants I had kept in the back of my closet.
Too bad they're all weirdly out of style!
