hi, my worst symptom is pain on left side of my back just below shoulderblade. feels like lots of inflammation. i get a sharp stabbing pain there when trying to take a deep breath & i'm unable to lie on left side as painful. Does anyone else get this? Do you know what it is? lungs/heart/spleen?? or just nerve inflammation?

I have pain to the right side...from the spine outward (for about 4 inches)...in the thoracic area (Same level as you).
I've been to neuros/Chiros...no long term relief. It's not severe, but it's there. HGad an MRI (neg), it fluctuates...so am just dealing with it.
Very annoying

Even though this may sound weird..it could be gastro (ie gall bladder, ulcer, kidney stone, bladder stone, ect. ect).

Thanks for your replies. Nice to know others have similar problems. I hope yours gets better soon Bill. I've had pain in this area for about 4 yrs now! but just seems to be bothering me more at the moment - probably the bugs replicating? or die-off i never know???

Is that any concern? (I'm not very medical) or just best endure the pain & hope it improves with treatment?

I would say out of all I listed, the gall bladder is the most concern. You can have an ultrasound to detect possible stones, but it is possible to have Gall Bladder disease without stones.
Gall bladder problems can be serious (not always). And many of us here have had our gall bladders removed.
If you can, it might be a good idea to see a gatro Dr. just to rule it out. By all means, dont just endure the pain.

is that due to toxins from treatment? or from the bugs causing damage? can you survive ok without a gallgladder? what's its purpose?(sorry i'm not very medical)
thanks, Lisa

Your gall bladder stores bile (a substance used in digestion). The bile is released when you eat fatty foods. The gall bladder is connected to your liver.
Some people get 'stones' which are mainly made up of cholesterol.
I dont think that a direct link to Lyme per se has been established, but gall stones seem to be common in people taking certain drugs (such as Rocephin).
Basically the other factors are someone who is overweight, over forty, female, caucasian, and recently pregnant. There also seems to be a correlation with people who are on yo yo diets.
Today, most of the time gall bladder removal is elective and day surgery. However, for some it is an emergency (as in the case of myself).
You can live perfectly fine without your gall bladder. However, you wont be able to digest fats as well and fatty food may even make you sick. Some people choose to take digestive enzymes to help.
Gall stones can be big and they can be small.

Kara...Good to see your posts again...I've been off line mostly...
Q...is the ultrasound the only test for Gall stones?
I've been to the Gastro twice for Endoscopys...so nothing there...gall bladder might be an issue...didn't check that

Surf, No.
Bill, The ultrasound is the most common, but I suppose an Xray might show them. I would think though that your gastro MD would have looked into that. I think gallbladders and ulcers are probably their main business.
But you dont have to have stones. I had gall bladder disease and no stones. The organ just died.
If you check off topic, I post weird news every day. Anything I find intersting.
