My GI doc said for an upper GI infection,-two weeks. I took a couple months ago for same problem. The first weeek 1/2 I had a die off of yeast. This is similar to a bacterial die off.. I was relly sick. But by the end of my second week on diflucan I started to feel better. What has helped lately is sticking to a very strict anti yeast diet and when I am on my oral meds I take prilosec-prescription strength. I think when I get over upper GI yeast it leaves me with some gastritis which take along time to heal.It was a good three weeks before I felt better. Take care dana
