Has anyone done i.v. doxycycline and if so what should I expect. The doctor just started me on it last week.

Yes I did I.V. Doxycycline for 5 months-400 mg. four times a week and 500 mg. three times a week. You must make sure that you have a central line because doxycycline is caustic to the veins and also can cause the line to become clogged. I lost my PICC line after only two months because a blood clot formed in the line and it could not be dissolved so make sure you flush your line with heparin at least twice a day. In the beginning the drug helped a lot but then I plateaued and had to switch to Rocephin.
