Ok! I am not complaining or anything but I was so frightened to start flagyl and I have not had any kind of herx at all.

Within 6 days of starting it I was and still am able to take the full dose (1pill three times a day). I have been feeling good ever since I started taking Zithromax the month before.

I am currently taking Flagyl/Mino(100 twice daily)and a whole slew of supplements. I am not completely back to my pre lyme self but I would say about 90% there.

I know this is good news but if I truly have lyme wouldn't I be herxing?? And yes I had a very positive IGM and pretty much a positive IGG.

Someone Please help me to understand and Thank YOU all for always being there!!!!

It so depends. Some people are better detoxifiers than others. I think it is true that GENERALLY, people herx and think of that as a sign of good treatment results. However, some people do improve without a herx. Or, maybe you have herxed in the past and your herxes are less now as your treatment knocks down the load?

My LL Nurse pracitioner says that she has a lot of patients who just don't herx at all, and that it's normal to not herx.

So...if this is the case with you, congratulations! That's great! I'm not in the LEAST bit envious lololol (ok maybe just a tiny bit).

Cheers,

Alison

You know, you could be herxing even though you are not feeling bad.(herxing)

We had been sick so long that we slowly got used to some of symptoms to the point that we didn't percieve them. Or thought they were behavioral-like I am discouraged and thats why I have little energy or I'm clumsy lately, guess its because I am tired.

Some of the herxes can be subtle. Also,Lyme manifests differently in each individual. My 2 children and I got tick bites the same week 5yrs ago and we each have some symptoms or herxes, so to say, that are our very own. Your course of recovery could be a lot different from the experience of other folks. I think that there is still a lot we are learning about lyme. recovery.

Hopefully this is a sign that you do not have a really bad case of lyme and that you are getting better! I also hope you can get better and still escape the bad herx scene!

Best Wishes,
Susan

Thanks all!

I do have to say that I was extremely bad this summer, almost to the point of cane. I certainly had to think twice about going anywhere because of the pain that I was in.

I have been trying to detox lately, I'm sure it all helps.

I hope that I didn't just kick my self in the shorts by saying that I am getting better and then end up flat on my back.

Well wishes to all!

I'm kind of experiencing the same thing. Or I guess I should say I'm not experiencing the same thing.

Like you, I was a bit nervous (OK, a LOT nervous)about adding the cyst buster. I'm on IV Rocephin and just added Tindamax on Monday. I expected to be knocked down but it didn't happen. Not complaining either.

I'm thinking maybe the cysts have already been pretty much busted over the past six or seven months with Plaquenil and Zith. ??????
I have been pretty much nonfunctional until the last couple of months.

Hope you continue to progress and get to 110% [Smile]

Yes low load of cyst forms thats good and low load of spirochetes.
High kill of either cysts or spirochetes = a herx reaction. Your getting better thats great!
The only reason people herx is because there bodies cant flush away all the dead parts of spirochetes & cyst & bleb forms when there dead its toxins. So a Low load of toxins = no herx. [woohoo] [woohoo] [woohoo]

ps flagyl never bothered me either. Maybe it only makes you sick at first before starting or being on other abx a long time.
