I have been on IVIG for 1yr. Ins is paying under the Ms dx I received 13yrs ago (had lyme for 30yrs,dx w/lyme 6yrs ago) Saw Dr K in May 05, he said I wasn't taking enough and increased the IVIG dose from 20g every 2wks to 50g every 2wks. (I am 5'2,115lbs) I think it helps, I start dragging (more than usually) when it comes time for another IVIG.

My lyme friend has been getting them for 4-5yrs and is doing good. He has to travel quite a bit for his job. He is 60yrs old, he was up on the roof of his house in summer heat "fixin it" He said it took 2yrs of steady IVIG to really feel "normal" He gets 20g every 2wks. Of all my neuro lyme friends, he is doing the best. He really believes it in and keeps telling me to stick with it.

I just got my port put in on Thurs., my viens are terrible, it was very stressful trying to find a vein. Should have done this last yr.

If you can get ins to pay for it, I say "try it for awhile and see"
