hey, just getting back from another ER visit. I couldnt even drive myself home today from a dr appointment my brother and mom had to come and pick up my car and drop me off at the ER....so from 4-130AM i was in there....the first half hour i cried because i thought i had something bad....they hooked me up to an liquid IV...then they ordered a CT of all my stomach organs.....i had to drink 32 oz of barium......which took me forever...the stuff made me really sick....then they injected me with more crap and i was told it would make my throat realy hot and make me feel like i was wetting myself....long story short nothing was found and i was sent on my way....told to have a liquid diet until this passes....i pleaded with the dr and he said it is not an emergency situation...he told me to follow up with a gatroentologist...it also said on the sheet that this could be viral and would just go away....my pelvic pain now feels like a pulled groin...but it didnt at first...its just that i dont feel like i have a lower right back...and its tough having a BM...he said there wasnt any stool in the colon....right now im having tremendous gas...ive been noticing that lately.

My dad picked me up ranting and told me to get it thru my head they arent going to do a thing for me at the ER...i told him i was in a lot of pain and he would see on wed...he said what...i said the lyme dr...he was like yea ive been thinking about that too..(not sure what he meant by that)
i was silent the rest of the way home....

I guess im just going to have to not worry about the wierd feeling below and not being able to have a BM...make some more dr apointments...but i know i wont be driving...not after today. Ill take a cab.

I'm sorry to hear about all your troubles. Sometimes, I think it migt be an advantage NOT to have insurance-- they have less tendency (since they might not get paid) to give you every useless test in their book! It seems like, somewhere along the line in their training, many ducks must have been forced to repeat over and over, "well, it couldn't be Lyme"... so they could keep a straight face when they tell us that.
Not surprising your gi is in distress after choking down that barium, though!! (but indeed, there are ...worse ways to get the barium in there... ...)

Poor pitiful petunia! I'm 47 and when I'm miserable I call my mom and she says "poor baby!"...it's not much but it makes me feel better....so....POOR BABY! I'm so sorry that you feel so miserable and have no answers right now....A good cry and thrashing of pillows helps me too.
Thinking of you...

Thanks for your support. i had a bm this morning...it was light colored and scaley. I still have a strange sensation in the female area period is due on the 8th...im going to try some tylenol today.....i wonder if dehydration might have caused some of this? I was told by ER to have small amount of liquids until this subsides...i dont think that is wise right now, plus im starving!!!

Mom says to lie on your left side when you're real gassy like this. Apparently, something about human anatomy makes gas movement easier if you're on your left...

Feel better!

Hi can'tgiveup -

I am sorry you went through this. I did too in my fourth month of being extremely ill with no answers. I was having such bad pain in the lower left quadrant of my abdomen and it would wake me up every morning at 4 a.m. with major intense pain.

I ended up at the ER with rectal bleeding after a Barium CT scan like you had complete with the contrast dye that makes you want to pee. I still shudder remembering that day as I emptied my insides out in the bathroom of the radiology departments toilet....IGNORANCE of all of them there...I was so sick...

Took doxy prescribed by a vet who felt strongly I had lyme after taking one look at me...with in two days the pain was gone. Then had herxes from hell.

Anyway, I am sorry you are hurting and I am sorry to hear that you visited a clueless ER like I did four times in my journey.

I just believe that someday it will be different and M.D.s will be educated about tick borne illness...

Take care!
