A question for all you Telithromycine / Ketek users: have you had an QT interval check / ECG prior to and/or during Ketek therapy?

Anyone experienced any adverse effects on QT interval during Ketek therapy?

Thanks in advance!

I don t know exactly what the QT interval is, but it is a measurement related to heart function, people whow already have a prolonged QT interval should not be taking Ketek. Ketek might increase QT interval, and therefore some docs check the QT interval before and during Ketek therapy. I think it is measured by means of an ECG... My LLMD is in another country and i visit him every couple of months, but it is difficult to schedule a ECG there, so it has to be done in the Netherlands and my GP duck won't cooperate, so if my LLMD is going to prescribe Ketek, I'm gonna have to take it without ECG/QT interval check. The summary of product characteristics does not say it is required to do such a check prior to therapy, but Dr B recommends it. i m very interested to know if others have taken Ketek without the ECG?

Any other responses?
