Hi

Just wanted to share the good news with everyone and get your opinions on what were going to do.

I went to see a new LLMD yesterday and he has decieded to start me on ivs and a treatment plan - it is such a relief to be doing something.

I am going to be on iv Rocephin 2gm's which i have taken before but only for 28 days 4 years ago. Im going to be having it 5days a week for between 12weeks and 6 months depending on how I go. Im going to probably have to have an imbedded cathater in my chest which im a bit scared about because im a big wuss with things like that plus where they were talking about putting it is really obvious so im going to see it maybe they can put it somewhere a little less noticible seeing as down here in Aus we are just starting a really hot summer.

Im am also going to be taking Fasigyn(sp?) for the cysts 500mg i think 4days every 2 weeks. As well as Zithromox which im pretty sure is doxy on the two days a week im not having the iv''s. I think my doc wanted to add a fourth antibiotic to the mix a bit further down the track when i have adjusted to things.

I am taking 1 sporanox a day for the yeast as well. Along with a bunch of supplements. And i almost forgot we started Prothioden(sp?) for sleep and im still adjusting Oxycodone for the pain. My dose at the moment is 10mg in the mornings and 20mg at night.

I am a bit overwhelmed with all of this i think it is going to take some time to digest it all but he is heading in the direction i was hoping for before i saw him. I called the homecare team today and i am waiting to hear back from them as to when they can start the ivs.

I was living on the otherside of the country with my fiance and i have had to come back home on my own to stay with my parents so that i could see a doc and start treatment so this had better start working or something cos hopefully if it does we can find a homecare team who will take over back where my fiance is but thats at least 3 months in the future before we can look at that [Frown]

I would love to know what everyone thinks about all thew drugs and the plan ive been put on. Any advice or suggestions are welcome.

Good news. One thought - you might want to ask your doctor about adding Actigal to avoid billary complications from the Rocephin. Good luck!

I think it sounds like a good combo.I'm sure other people here know alot more about drug combo's than me.

Have you done the mepron yet?

I think if only taking one sporanox(probiotic?) may not be enough. When I was on heavy IV and additional drugs my systems wasn't keepin up.They were killing off the flora big time.

Scoll down and see the header"The best probiotics.Good input there.

The only other thing I could suggest is watch your diet-sugar & carbs.

Take care and hope you feel better soon [Smile]

Hi

I am on tonnes of probiotics and from the docs and others ive talked to its the best one available in Aus. The sporanox is an anti fungal as i already have some yeast in my stomach so we are using it to keep it all under control.
