I, among a million other scary things, continue to have these "heart flops" that really scare me. I get tachycardia when I am symptomatic, but this feels different, like my heart goes out of rhythm for a minute or two and then resolves. I get flushed and dizzy when this happens and can't catch my breath. It really scares me. Anyone else out there get this and can tell me what will help? I have been treated for babs already.
Thanks all!

Yes, I've gotten this for years now. So bad sometimes it wakes me up from a dead sleep. Feels like it just stopped beating and takes my breath away. It's terribly frightening. I'm sorry I don't have a remedy for you, wish I kew one. Just know you're not alone.

Just to be safe, if I were you I would get a full workup by a Cardiologist, stress test, EKG,. echocardiogram etc. if nothing else to ease your mind. A Tilt Table Test wouldn't hurt either. Heart sx are very common with Lyme and co-infections, and its iportant to check the structural heart out too, to be fully sure. I have NMH (Neurally MEdiated Hypotension) I also have esophageal spasms that i thought were heart skips for the longest time, so it can be that and it feels just like it. I would get a full workup done, just to know. You will be okay.

I have them too. When it was bad it would shake my whole body and wake me up. Mine are much much worse when yeast flares up. Check for yeast.
ask about beta blockers too. Slows your heart down. I take one as needed and it's less scarey.

I agree that you should have a full cardio work up. This can be very common, but it doesn't mean there isn't something wrong.
For me, it seems that Lyme and infections has made me VERY sensitive to mold and chemicals, and any expsoure sets my heart off. Last winter was pretty bad, and I had to take beta blockers to slow things down, and keep the heart from pounding so hard. Now that I am out of the expsoure, I'm off the drugs and things are fine.
Hope they find what is happening for you. It can be very scary.

I've had those for years. It's been worse since I began abx treatment.
I often refers to the feeling as "slow motion picture" when it happens. It's like everything stops. You clearly feel that your heart is slowing down and you stop breathing, then it's back to normal.
The cardiology check confirmed only MVP. No abnormal tachycardia.
My LLMD doesn't seem too concerned about it, so I figured it's nothing life-threatening...just weird.

What you're describing sounds exactly like what I have had. After many bouts with it, I took my pulse during one of the episodes and found that my heart was actually skipping beats.
LLMD's didn't seem very worried but I was.
I went out on my own and found a cardiologist and had the whole workup. Ended up I have Mitral Valve Prolapse (MVP) and that's what makes it seem like my heart is skipping. It isn't a problem in my case but it sure is bothersome when it happens.
I suggest seeing a specialist too.
Good Luck,
Corgilla
