My husband is 18 months into his infection but we have finally got 28 days IV from the UK National Health Service. He got his line in today and first dose. Now that I've finally won the battle on this, the new battle starts tomorrow for the follow up orals. I just hope to God that this makes a difference because we cannot live like this much longer.

HI Kath~
I'll be praying for your husband. I was in your beautiful country the summer of 2004. I had lyme at the time, but didn't know it...all I knew was that I felt absolutely awful....
I'm on IVs too. I have made some improvements.
Hang in there....

Kath,
I'm praying for your hubby & you that IV will help your husband tremendously. Best wishes.

Best of luck with the IV's. I hop eyou can buy more Rocephin in Europe and extend beyond 28 days, 28 days is not enough. Its better than nothing, yes, but he really should be treated open ended until he is symptom free for 2 months, and then go 2 months beyond that.
Maybe you can do some digging and get some free Rocephin, its generic now in the US, at least, and/or buy some over there.

I hope your husband can follow-up the IV Rocephin with several months on orals.
Also, remember that the IV should not hurt. Call your home health care provider, nurse or whomever you are supposed to call right away if there is any pain.
He should have an Epipen too....just in case.
Prayers to you both!
