Guys, I am so ready to just give up. I have been in the bed for two weeks now and I feel no better today than I did 6 months ago when I started treatment. As a matter of fact, I feel like my bad days are much more often now than any functional days. Yesterday I cried all day and told my husband I can't do this anymore. I have had lyme approx. 15 years and I am definetely chronic. My vision is dark & blurry, I have horrible nerve pains and burning, my heart races standing and sitting, I have insomnia from the pain and can't sleep. I can't be the Mom or the wife I need to be. I feel like crap all of the time and it's really wore me down these past couple of days. How do you guys get through this?

do you have an llmd? are you getting good treatment? i know its really hard...but remember its not cancer...you probably won't die from it...it laways helped me to get thru the worst times by thinking about someone who was worse off than melike my friend who lost 3 of her 5 kids in a car accident one afternoon. that said the whole thing sucks for sure and i also would have a pity party once in awhile and also would treat myself to something too...even if it wasn't really good for me...or cost too much or whatever. i was dx 20 yrs ago and had had it 15 yrs-i raised 4 kids in that time and some good things happened and some bad things happened...all of my kids and my grandson has it and some are getting treatment and some are in total denyal...and i am dealing with WHAT CAN I DO NOW????

but for you now...do what you have to do to deal with the feelings and then do what you have to do to fight it...educate yourself...stay on here...and get a good doc. good luck. we're here.

PS DO NOT GIVE UP

Your post sounded as I could've written begining at the first of 2002...just hang in there and keep up the devotion to find your way to wellness.

I did many things, abx, rife, Samento, too many to mention, really. And, I have been abx free for over a year now. I haven't found the need to see my LLMD for over a year either.

And, the best thing you can do is read, read anything and everything on Lyme disease. the On-Line Library on the left of this page is a good place to start and then start reading posts.....

You'll learn so much by reading posts even if the title of the post doesn't appeal to you or you feel as if it doesn't pertain to you, just read. And, then, ask questions and then, your journey to wellness will start.

You've had this for 15 years or more, me too, and it is not going to be over night that you get better. I was sick and I mean really sick, in the bed sick for several years. But, today, I am so much better, I'd say I'm in a remission.

Good luck and let us know how it goes...

Hey Tidegal,

I know exactly how you feel. It is a day to day struggle to keep yourself up and moving. You can't give up....just pray for grace each day. One day at a time. That is all that we can do. I pray for grace for you today and as you and I both go through this disease. It is hard sometimes, because people around you do not understand what you are going through and how you feel. That is why I am thankful for this forum.

Keep you chin up and I will be glad to talk any time.

Janjan

Hang in there Tidegal,

My son was diagnosted with LD late August. He was having all kinds of problems since last January. Our LLMD found it.... My son complained often of pain, especially the burning pain in his nerves, heart problems, and big depression problems. Sleep was almost impossible for him. Our LLMD prescribed Doxepin (20 mg) at night time before going off to bed. This is considered an anti-depression med, but often used for pain. Our doc found other LLMD's were having good luck with this on Lymes patients. It took awhile, but now he is sleeping and the burning pain has toned now. He is also on Levaquin (500 mg) per day for Bartonella. I know not all med's will work on anyone, but this is what we are doing.

p.s. My son also take several supplements, a custom made multi-vitiman (prescibed by our LLDM), CoQ10 for the heart (has been helping - takes 300 mg per day), Milk thistle for the liver, Fish oils, GLA oils, Digestive enzymes and probiotics for the stomach to name a few.

On bad days I tell my son, We'll take it minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day. Your not alone. Hang in there...... here's a big hug to help you. S-q-u-e-e-z-e
