Well I have been on abx for about 16 months. I have had my ups and downs but now I am having a lot of new symptoms. I have POTS and just so many heart symptoms. They were starting to subside a bit but now worse than ever. I had IV, tons of oral and I am now on my second round of Babesia treatment.
I can say I was not very good with my diet for a while and always had no trouble eating. Well I take my probiotic and have started the Candida diet. I would say about 3-4 weeks ago my symptoms have gotten so much worse again. Brain fog, severe body aches and nausea all the time I can't eat because it is so bad. I lost 11 pounds in like a week & 1/2.
I am currently on Mepron & Zithromax and my supplements & beta blocker. My doctor took me off Bicillin after only 6 shots because we didn't know if it was due to that. Well it has been a month since they stopped the shot and I am getting worse everyday. The Slamming headaches with sever stiff neck and nausea are starting to scare me. My heart symptoms are through the roof also. What is wrong with me?? I am so ready to give up on this crap because now I feel like I am gettin nowhere.
Does this sound like I have become toxic?? I am to scared to stop my mepron but I need to get my body working again. I don't have stomache pain just the nausea and very bad sea sick feeling. I am going to get my liver tests tomorrow but they have always been great. Any suggenstions would be great. Please.......Michelle

Same thing happened to me with Mepron/Zith combo. First round (6 weeks was bearable), 2nd round (3 weeks) I had same symptoms as you, plus lots of vision problems. For some reason my treatments had a space of 3 to 4 meonths between.
My new llmd just put me on Malarone, she believes that the Zith was a problem. I don't know yet, I just started it yesterday. She kept me on Bactrim and will add Ceftin in 1 to 2 weeks, depending on how I'm doing.

Well last time I was on Mepron and Zith. I was doing good and no side effects. I actually haven't really had any side effects from anything. Well I have been on Mepron and Zith for about 4 month again and I have been fine.
Now All of a sudden I have been feeling like I am going to die....That's why I thought maybe It was from being Toxic or maybe yeast. I have been very scared because I don't want to go back to square one.
Is it safe to come off abx and detox or will my babesia come right back. I really think I need a break or something. Tonight my vision went crazy and had flashing lights in them and I couldn't see well. I almost had my husband call an ambulance because I thought I was having a stroke or something. Well after that came a pounding migraine.
My doc was thinking of having me do Dr. Zahng's Protocol because my doc has Lyme also and is doing very well on it. I guess I just don't know what the heck to do. Well my eyes are so screwed up tonight so I will stop for now. Thanks for listening.

Yes its the toxins.. I can atest to that.
When Im toxic all my symptoms flare.
I want to die Really!!!! LIfe seems so evil and cruel and everything is gray and sucks.
Its amazing what toxins can do. I feel filthy like a ses pool.
If I only knew that I had lyme disease in 2001-2002 I would not have drunk as much alcohol as I did.
I drank evey night for a while and my depression worsened and my pains came back to the point where I was totally disabled for over a year.
Now Ive begun treatment in late 2003 and ive been trying to detox ever since. The herxes are the worst.
The toxins also trigger the immune system to go awry.

Sorry to hear that you are having such a rough time.
I am thinking that your symptoms could be a herximer reaction.
We have had the weirdest symptoms as the lyme is dying off. Vision problems,insomnia, pressure headaches, traveling pains...Not to the extent you are talking about, sounds scarey.
I know what you mean by feeling scared to stop taking the antibiotics. Could you wk with your dr. to take a break or cut back a bit?

The visual problems you had just before the migraine were an "aura." This is also called "ocular migraine."
I used to get ocular migraines all the time, sometimes without a headache. Uncomfortable and annoying. I've had them when I was driving through town, trying to get home.
My ocular migraines stopped when I was put on Zoloft. Or rather, when the dose of Zoloft was raised high enough.
Migraine headaches often present with nausea. If I have a headache and also low abdominal discomfort, then I know it's a migraine, and I take the Maxalt.
You said,"I have...so many heart symptoms." This can be caused by low magnesium. What are you doing to supplement magnesium?
If you are having nausea so bad that you can't eat and have lost 11 pounds, I wonder if your doctor would think it's time to give you a break. Can you check with him/her? It does no good to kill the patient with the treatment.
Which supplements are you on? There is one in particular that can interfere with Mepron. (Milk thistle? Mmmmm....can't remember.)
It might be that your liver needs some time to clear out the toxic elements in the bloodstream. Taking a short break would help.

Have you ever taken the visual contrast screening test? It is possible that your body is not getting rid of the toxins from the die-off quickly enough. If you google visual contrast screening, the website for online testing will come up. I was very skeptical of this at first, but it proved to be a valuable tool for my daughter. She tested positive for toxins, did the cholestyramine protocol under her doctor's supervision, then tested negative following treatment. Since the treatment was not documented in any way through the website, I know the test results were solid. Also, she got remarkably better after treatment. She is not finished with the infections yet; but at least we know now to monitor the detoxing.

Thank You so much for your replies. Well I called the doctor and he told me to stop taking everything for now. I am getting a blood test today to check everything including my liver.
The only thing I am afraid to stop my Mepron. I will have to stop until the blood tests come back which won't be till Monday. Is Basesia gonna sneak back and get me!!!!
I really know I need a break but it is scary. 16 months straight with no break is probably bad. Well I am off to get my test. Thanks I will check back later.

Carol in PA is right on about the migraine symptoms! The first time you have an ocular migraine or a visual aura it can be really scary!
Migraines can also be helped with magnesium, so you may be having problems in that area. When I was on Babesia treatment, I had a big increase in migraines and heart symptoms. Makes me wonder if the treatment itself might affect magnesium levels.
As lymeout mentions, I also found relief from treating neurotoxins afterwards. Some of us don't seem to be able to clear the dead bacteria and piroplasms out when we are killing them on these strong drug protocols. If stopping the meds is not enough, you might check into that as an issue.

I used to get migraines like that all the time. I think it was one of my first symptoms. I walked around for years thinking I had a brain tumor or something.
Well last night I guess it felt new to me all over again because I haven't gotten one where I lose my vision in a while. Combined with my heart going crazy the weak and dizzy feeling I guess it almost put me into a full blown panick attack. I thought for sure I was having a stroke or something.
I had my blood taken a little while ago hopefully all is well with that but I just want to get my semi'feeling better days back!!! PLLLLLEEEAAAASSE. I am struggling right now trying to take care of my 2 year old. She is off the wall and I can barely get across the room right now.
Speaking of the little devil she just knocked the gate over and is running free. LOL!! Talk Later Michelle

Get your essential mineral levels and heavy metals tested.
See where Mg is at and Lithium...and all the rest.
Doctors Data in St. Charles, Il can run this simple urine test for you. Must be requested by a doctor and results sent to him/her. You can find info. about this lab on the internet.
Worth every cent!!!
It is critical you and your doctor know the status of all your minerals and possibly heavy metal levels.
