Hello,
My daughter has an appointment with Dr.J in December. Well anyways we did the urine test for Lyme on her. She is 2 years old. I just called to get the results and it was negative. They suggested I still keep the appointment and they will draw blood and test that way also.

I don't know much about the urine test and how accurate it is but It made me feel good to hear them say negative. Of course I don't want to get my hopes up thinking she doesn't have it and then get shot down later. If anyone knows much about it please fill me in....LOL!! I am just loosing my mind. [bonk] As if I have a mind left!! Thanks, Michelle

I don't know about the urine test but my son, who is 10 yrs old, just recently had a blood test from Igenex and it was negative. I was so relieved because I just knew I passed it to him during my pregnancy. Hang in there and try not to worry!!

Mine was negative. I don't think it's as accurate as the WB.

I don't think the word you are looking for is accurate. I think both the PCR and LUAT are more accurate than the WB because they measure the actually organism not the antibodies. I tested positive on the LUAT. The LUAT is performed after and during 3 days of abx. The dead Lyme bacteria are passed out in the urine and dna tested. But like the PCR there is not always lyme in the LUAT sample to test the dna for whatever reason.

Hi Michelle,

All I can you is that's how we found my son's infection. The Elisa and WB were negative, but we found it thru a urine test. This Lymes stuff is so tricky. It takes a good LLMD to help you get to the bottom of this disease. Stick with the blood test. It can't hurt.... hope everything well be negative for your daughter's sake.

Hanging in there,

Mom in Wi

It's more DEFINITIVE, perhaps....IF it's positive. But a negative response doesn't mean you don't have it.
