My biaxin has run out and it is not being refilled by the doctor. I was wondering if flagyl is useful on its own or if I'm all out of luck.
I know its a good cyst buster but must it be used in combination with another abx.
Thanks

If flagyl is opening cysts andthere is nothing there to kill the live spirochetes that come out of the cyst I think you might be looking at a reinfection. Please call your doc and ask before doing this.

So what is typical for LLMD's to use with Flagyl?
Flagyl is up next for me after my antibiotic holiday.

I am on mino and rifampin. I take flagyl 1 week a month.
I think flagyl is usually donr with a macrolide(Zith, Biaxin, Ketek) and/or a tetracycline (tetracycline, doxycycline, minocycline).
Choice of particular med protocols is best done in consultation with your LLMD. We are all experienced but mainly in our own cases ..... Make sure you have an LLMD to guide you for your specific case.

Ask your llmd........ you shuld be able to ask questions.......if not find someone comfortable with giving explanations when you need them. In my opinion you must be able to question the doctor.
