Currently I am on 500mg of Biaxin and 300mg of Omnicef twice daily. I have cut back to once daily because of the stiff, sore neck muscles and general muscle pain reactions. My tongue is now actually SORE and feels "burnt"...anyone have that problem? ugh.

Anyway, are those decent antibiotics? He also wants to add Flagyl but thinks my reaction to Biaxin and Omnicef have been too strong to add another one right now. Advice?

Anyway, I do not yet know if I have any co-infections so maybe you can't answer my question until I know that. I will be tested for them in three weeks. What co-infections should I be asking him to treat me for? I think he may use Igenex...is there a better lab for that testing?

Aloha,
I am experiencing a great deal of stuff like this. I am just beginning my regime of antibiotic therapy too since 10/5/05. I am taking Mepron suspension for Babeosis Microti and then Zithromax 500 mg two times daily. I also just started Plaquenil 200 mg 2 x's day for pain. I was previously treated in 1987 (yes 18 years ago) but it wasn't enough to eradicate the bacteria. I have two co-infections, Ehrlichiosis is the other one. I am having a really hard time with burning pains in the muscles and stiffness. I have to gently walk as my ankles and knees are "killing" me with pain now due to the "herx". YUCK....
My questions are: Does this work? Am I wasting money with this? Shall I keep this up? I am new to group, hi everybody...
Take care and keep taking the meds is what I am hearing,
Tammy R. from Kona, Hawaii
