Hi,

My 12yr old has no fever, but feels hot off and on, lately mostly on.

Sleeps with ceiling fan on and no shirt if I let him.

Cheeks are bright red off and on, more on.

He has had lyme for 5yrs, treated aggressively for 9 mos.

Last month Zith 500 and Amox 850 2x day. I did not give full amox consistently as herx was bad.
This wk will start Omnicef and Zith. Has been crankiest I've ever seen this last month.

My daughter has been diagnosed with Bart, so I am sure that he has it also.

Getting to my question!!!

Does this chill with no fever sound like a co-infection? Something other than lyme or bart?

Thanks,

Char

Hi Char,

My daughter's normal temperature since being infected with lyme is generally 97 or so. her llmd told me that that is quite common. until she got better it was even lower. seems to me that your son's body temp has done the same as my daughter's. perhaps you need to adjust your focus from 98.6 as normal and try to determine what his particular normal is. now, when i take her temperature i know that 100 is a high fever for her. each person is different.

I was wondering about my son feeling feverish and not having a temp. I have Lyme and did not know it when I was pregnant. My son is 3 and NEVER gets cold. It can be 10 degrees outside and he will walk around w/ no shirt and socks and not be cold.

Just the other day he came in the house after being in the snow. His feet were red and wet. My mom pointed out that they were not even cold. They were warm.

I just found out my son could have it. I am trying to find us both a doctor that can help.

Any info that you think may help, let me know.

Thanks,

LQ

I have this same problem, and it is no fun. It comes and goes. Sometimes I wake in the middle of the night feeling like I am on fire, but no sweats, and no fever. My skin may feel ice cold, but I am still hot. LLMD isn't sure what it is. My feeling is that it is related to autoimmune response by thyroid to lyme. I have high levels of antithyroid antibodies (from lyme) so my confused body is attacking my thyroid and maybe throwing out too much free hormone as a result. Just my own theory!

I often feel like I have a fever and my temp is below normal. Face feels hot and I have to use deodorant for the 1st time in my life during the cold months. For the past few days, I've had the chills at night while still awake, then I wake up hot in the middle of the night. I don't know if this is related to Lyme, Babesia, or Bartonella. Am treating them all aggressively right now.

Also, before I was sick I was hypothyroid, but was successfully treated for it. Since I've been sick I've had trouble in the thyroid department. I suspect it is helping to prevent my recovery.

Hi Char

I have lyme and Babs--many years-
My body temp is all over the
scale --93 to 102---
There has been weeks that I
feel very hot and actual temp
is low-

I also get cold chills-
can last from minutes
to days--

Overall My temp usually runs low-

The symptoms of Babs that
stand out are

Drenching night sweats-
shortness of breath-
chest pains-many types-
stiff neck-joints-

Symptoms usually worse
at night-

Babs symptoms mirror Lyme
symptoms- overall-

I dont remember my face
becoming red at any
point-

I got babs and lyme from
same tick--
