I'm sure this has been asked many times in older posts but I want to ask........How many years can the disease infect you before symtoms appear?
In my debate over whether or not to pursue lyme as a reason for my headache and peculiar cranial symtoms, I kept thinking "How and when would I ever be bitten by a tick...highly unlikely" Today, I remembered my one and only camping trip, probably 15 years ago, where some sort of bug crawled into my ear at night, causing excruciating pain and infection. The doctor said what ever it was, its not "alive" in there and gave me antibiotics for the ear infection. Now, all these years later I'm wondering if this could have been a tick. Happened near sauble beach, in wooded campsite on Lake Huron.

Thanks everyone.

Could be MANY yrs. The camping experience sounds very much like that was it for you.

I was bitten for several years by ticks and had health problems I didn't know were in anyway connected. This went on for 42 yrs until I was finally diagnosed 5 yrs ago.

Keep reading. You'll find the answer.
