After 8 months of treatment (antibiotics, Chinese herbs, Artemisin, detox, amalgam removal, chelation, ...), I finally have a very encouraging lab result!

My ANA titer used to be about 1:2500. It is now down to 1:40. Also I was + for anti-cardiolipin antibodies, and those are now gone too. Yea!! During this Lyme journey, it's so rare to get a happy lab result, so I am celebrating this one.

Of course the link between ANA and Lyme is fuzzy, but does anyone have any good theories as to why they are correlated?

Thanks!

Same for me. I my ana was + (1:320) for 10 yrs and after five months of abx, it is now NORMAL!!
However, my lyme titer is still high. Don't know why. Anyway, I was excited when I heard the news myself and I am equally excited for you!

Earthgirl, I'm going to have an ANA done probably next week. For the last year I've had a rash on my face. It's not exactly butterfly, because it doesn't start on my nose. It starts about 1 inch from nose on each side and then across my cheek about 2 inches and runs down to my chin.

It's there all the time. I haven't had ANA for Lupus since Aug 99. I know lyme can cause a rash on the face also. But I think it's better to be safe.

From what I've read lyme/lupus start at the cell level and stir it up every which way. Dr C told me that until they find out the whys and hows of lyme at the cell level, there won't find the real cure.

Take care, Pam
