I forgot my flagyl on Friday so I took three on Saturday, three yesterday--should I take three today? I'm suppose to take two on friday, Saturday and Sunday. I was thinking I would just take two today and see what happens this Saturday...
I understand no one here is a doctor--I am just asking for opinions...

I would just go back to your normal schedule and not try to make up for it.

It's a potent drug. Definitely no doubling up for doses missed.
Take care.

Linda, are you trying to committ suicide? You really need to be careful with flagyl. You miss a dose, Forget it and try to do better the next dosage time.
I never got past a sliver of flagyl for more than 4 days before I had to take a few days break.
Take care, Pam

Ther should have been a info pack when you got your pills. I would not double up, in fact since you are treating lyme, missing a few days is no big deal, Lyme replicates so slowly that you can miss quite few days and there is no adverse effect. (Thus the basis for pulsed therapy)
About Flygl
Flagyl is nasty as it has a lower then typical lethal to therapy dose ratio. Some like 7 to 1. This varies from person to person (obviously weight has a lot to do with it). So in general you don't want to play around with the dose that much. At super high doses the drug is lethal in dogs within a few days (100 times the daily dose so or), as a result of neurological damage. At lower doses the drug can cause brain damage (humans included), which may or may not be temporary. A few days at higher dose won't likely hurt but you don't want to do if for too long or you might start to find that you get the tingling and loss of feeling in your arms and legs.. Something to look out for for every one taking flaygl.
I have had flagyl for many month's and never had a problem. It did help quite a lot with neurological problems.
good luck.

I just started Flagyl and it says if you miss a dose, do NOT double up. My doctor has me on 1500 mgs per day for 5 days. He is trying to get some bacteria into my urine for a DNA reading. I was scared to take this much based on what I read from you guys, but since it is only for 5 days, I did not feel I could start slowly and build up. I'm only on day 2, but so far, only a headache which Advil relieves. I can't wait to be done with this nasty drug.
