It helps some. My biggest help with it has been in the area of sleeping! I can take one or two at night and sleep through the night [usually].

Hope it helps you. You have to ramp up the dose and that takes time.

My experience is like Tu Tu.....helps some with pain and is my life saver for the sleep problems. I take high doses....600 mg lunch and dinner and 2400 mg at bedtime.

Also helps my anxiety a lot. Sometimes I figure it isn't helping anything UNTIL I run out!! Then I get re-educated on what it's doin' fer me!! [Big Grin]

Good luck!!

Neurotin 6oomg has helped my 11yr old son with muscle cramps. If we forgot, pain would flare.

Much better with abx, we are sort of weaning by default as not much backlash when we forget.

Best Wishes,

Char

I was taking 2400 mg this summer for extreme arm pain. My arm is better so I have cut back to 600. ...but now migraines have started again. Not sure if there is any connection.
Hope it helps you!

It helped me sleep but didn't do a thing for the numbness and tingling.

Gabapentin....Gabitril....helped with sleep, but after a while I began to have Parkinsons-like tremors and spasticity.

I stopped the Gabitril and the symptoms went away.

Hi Marcia
I take 900mg at bedtime and 600mg in the AM.Initally I thought that this was helping alot, but then I felt that slowly it was becoming less effective. I thought I had developed a tolerance, but one night I forgot to take it. I could barely get out of bed the next day. It doesn't so much work on pain as much as allows me to get out of bed every day.Last week I went to my Primary Dr. and she decided to take a more aggressive stance on pain management. I just started 50mg Fentanyl Patches. One patch stays on for 3 days and I'm completely pain free. I feel like a new person!

Thanks all. I am on a very low dose so far. 300 mg at night for one week then ramping up to 300 mg morning and night for a month then I go back to see my Dr again.

Marcia,

Im took 300mg of Neurontin last night. I got a VERY metallic taste in my mouth. Do you have this problem?

Also, i have tried elavil, which works very well, but that med actually hurts my mouth, besides making me feel hungover.

I am just curious what your side effects are with the Neurontin.

Blessings,

Jordan
