My 12 year old son has just received a postive lyme titer 5.09 with the normal being less than .9. He has been sick for 4 months after returning from Minnesota and having the giant bulls eye behind his knee. (Misdiagnosed). He had an ekg after complaining of being tired and short of breath and it showed incomplete bundle branch block. He had an echo of his heart which was normal. Do we have to worry or follow up? Thanks.

was it a right bbb or a left bbb ?

there is a big difference

right bbb is Ok. All it means is that (in plain english) the nerve impulses that travel down through the right side of the heart get confused and have to take a detour to finish there objective. Of course it is more technical than that but that explains it. I have one also. I just get an EKG every year. I went through the Echo / Stress and there is nothing else wrong.

I agree with beccaman. I am a stress test nurse. Lots of people have RBBB. It's harmless. Left BBB is a different story, could be from heart attack or cardiomyopathy.

Thanks for the info. My son has lyme (diagnosed by lyme titer two days ago. A couple of months ago, when he was very ill, he had an ekg showing incomplete rbbb. A few days later, he had syncope and passed out in the kitchen. When he came to, he didn't know where he was. I was worried that the rbbb was the problem but he has not had a problem since then. thanks to all.
