Been on abx and mepron consistantly over past 9 months.

Gone are headaches, fatigue, periferal feelings, but still largely present is my cognative difficulties, poor attentioon and concentration, short term memory problems, forgetting where I am going plus hearing loss in one ear and loss of smell. Muscle spasms and twitching still here as well and edema in ankles and feet.

For others were cognative things the first to change for the better after meds or where they the last symptons remaining?

Hi Brighty.

Man, I coulda written your post. Sheesh!

I've been treating 7 months (almost).

Finally, as of Dec. 15, I am officially headache-free TOTALLY for the first whole month!!! What a life! Also, in the last couple weeks, the fatigue is getting better. I can stay awake driving home from work without Provigil. This is a good thing!

However, like you, I am dismayed to find the other stuff still there.

I do not have pain anywhere in my body, luckily, just "brainlessness." Cannot remember who I talked to on the phone 10 minutes ago. Cannot think of the right words when talking. Overwhelmed by multiple tasks. Extreme concentration required sometimes to remember how to get places.

But I'm hopeful it will just come back more slowly. I look back on just a FEW months ago and say, "OK, at LEAST I am not getting totally lost a mile from home anymore, or haven't taken the wrong exit."

I remember which toothbrush is mine. And so these things might be measured in baby steps that are not immediately obvious, but only apparent when viewed over a span of months.

Keep the faith!

Michelle

My hubby is the same way........he doesn't have joint pain anymore, still has some itching issues on his legs....

But for the most part, his problems are all cognitive........still has problems getting his words out, or thinking of what he wants to say.

But he's so much better, I have to remind myself he's only been on anbitiotics 2 1/2 months.

God Bless all and Merry Christmas to all!

Great progress in a short time! Fantastic news, Boomerang! Remember, slow & steady wins the race, I think!

I can't wait until I get past the fatigue level like you, but I'm thrilled to hear that you've gotten there. That gives me, and I'm sure others who read your post, hope.

Hoping that your borrelia brain starts getting better soon!

Happy Holidays!

I am on doxy, biaxim and plaquenil. The first to go was the brain fog, then the numbness and tingling. I still have the terribile headache, which actually seems worse.

I have been off the meds since Dec. 1st due to allergy issues, so all symptoms have come back, darn it!
