I was hoping some of the ladies on this board could answer some questions for me.
I stopped taking BCP in September because I was having all these weird things (neurological) happen to me. I had only been taking BCP for about 8 months and I thought that all of my symptoms were related to BCP. This was before I thought and knew I had Lyme. I do not want to take BCP.
I had a normal period in September, October, and November. I started taking Doxy right after Thanksgiving (200 mg. 2X a day for 3 weeks).
About 2 weeks into my Doxy, I got a strep throat infection and my PCP prescribed Amoxicillan (875 mg. 2X a day for 10 days) I was told to stop taking the Doxy because the two abx interact and cancel each other out.
Anyway, I'm a week late for my period and no, I am not pregnant. Could taking these abx make me late? or mess up my schedule?
I've read elsewhere that Lyme can mess up your menstrual cycle, too.
I've always been regular and the thought of having a screwed up cycle concerns me. I don't want to have any more children and am seriously thinking about having my tubes tied. Would having Lyme make this procedure unavailable to me? Just wondering.
Thanks for any info.

Hi Cinder, Yes, antibiotics can mess around with your cycle - my periods were messed up when I took Zythromycin. I'm taking Cefaclor now and they are fine.
