I just looked in the mirror and my tongue is white, it feels burnt and so does my throat.

I feel really sick today too....like my body is fluttering inside. any idea what this may be?

I was afraid that was what it was. Im taking probiotics...trying to watch my diet....but i cant maintan weight on that diet...so ive been eating some veggie lasagna......i gained 7lbs back doing that, and now im suffering.

I really hope my LLMD believes i have yeast now....cause he wasnt believing me last month. My bladder problems are prob yeast related too.

this is just so frustrating. I did buy some goatien....no sugar. I might try drinking some of that after i clear it with my LLMD.

Sure sounds like yeast to me. (Please see my signature.)

When my mouth and throat got really bad, I did the following per Dr. B's guidelines:

I brushed my teeth, my gums, my tongue, the entire inside of my mouth while holding listerine in my mouth. Then I spit out the listerine.

Then I dumped two acidophilus capsules on my tongue and swished and gargled with a small amount of water and then swallowed.

I did this twice a day for about a week and it seemed to help. I think I was taking nystatin a the time, also to help with tummy yeast.

Good luck with that!

It is thrush from the yeast problem. See if your doc will prescribe nystatin. It stays in your digestive tract only and is not processed by the liver. So it is relatively safe and does help. By some of your other posts I was going to mention you are having many problems most likely due to the yeast. I have the same things with what feels like kidney pains but I believe they are actually intestinal problems. The yeast will also make you very tired..but so will the diet. I have found a happy medium by keeping to the diet but adding in small amounts of what I am used to eating to keep the energy level and weight up. I also take 2 pills of super colon cleanse twice daily and take yeast avenger (probiotic) 2 pills twice daily Rand I feel much better finally. It will really help with many of your symptoms if you can just find a system that works for your particular case. Remember not everyone is the same and you will find many on this site who will TELL you what you should be doing. Read up as much as you can on what works for others and ask your llmd's advice but then work your diet and supplements that will help you feel better by listening to your body.

got your pm but cant reply because your pm box is full. Drink tons of water and I mean a lot. I drink about 8 or more 16 oz bottles a day to help keep my system (especially kidneys) flushing. It will help prevent kidney stones and possible infections I was told by my doctor.

good luck.

When I had thrush I rinsed and gargled with hydrogen peroxide diluted with water. It's not pleasant, but it helps. I read that garlic helps too.

Get some Tea Tree Oil from wal mart or any health food place. Put some on your finger and rub it on your tongue. It tastes like kerosene and will make you gag and spit for awhile but it kills the yeast.

but then biaxin is an acquired taste too.

Remember that starches from carbohydrates turn into sugar in your body, which supports the growth of yeast. I avoid all pasta for now...along with breads, potatoes, sweets, etc.

I was really miserable from yeast last spring. I had been following the anti yeast diet using the food lists from www.wholeapproach.com. I did cheat occaisionally and finally became so miserable I realized I couldn't cheat at all.

For 6 months I was super strict, absolutely no flour, grains, fruit, sugar... Approx once a week I had a small amount of rice (sushi) or potato.

I ate a huge amount of organic vegetables (mostly raw salads in the summer, more sauteed vegetables now that it is cold out), lots of nuts (I order various kinds from www.ohnuts.com), naturally raised meat (preferably grass fed), low mercury fish, organic eggs, cheese, a little beans. Thats about it.

Some foods I could not tolerate were turnips, rutabaga, squash, carrots, yukon gold potatoes. All were too sweet and would make my tongue white & coated and would give me a funny taste in my mouth.

Some foods that were fine for me even though they were not recommended on the food lists: mushrooms, cheese, soy sauce, miso and other fermented things.

I took primal defense caplets 2x day, 2 hours after breakfast and before bed. I sprinkled primal defense powder on my tongue before bed and sometimes in the am, I rubbed a feww drops of oil of oregano on my wrists every night. I drank detox tea every morning and lots of filtered water throughout the day.

It all worked!!!!

Now I am able to have a little bit more rice and potatoes, I had a very small piece of cheescake the other night with no ill effects. Previously even one bite would have been way too much.

I recently switched from primal defense to theralac (one capsule before bed).

To keep weight on you could eat more nuts, fattier meats and use more butter/oil/salad dressing.

I've really gotten used to this diet and I'm feeling so much better on it. I can't even imagine how sick I would be if I was still eating pasta/bread/fruit etc.

Good Luck,
hatsscarfs

Recently I had my tongue swabbed for testing. I thought for sure it would come back yeast. Every day for the last two years I've been fighting a white or yellowish thick coating on my tongue.

The test results came back as overabundance of flora, good flora. My doc said my body is producing this flora to protect itself from some unknown virus, such as strep or staph.

Ended up doing strep and e-coli treatments with rife machine for 6 weeks and I'll be darned the tongue started clearing up. I have a red tongue again. I really think it was the strep rifing that did it, because I've done e-coli off and on for the last 6 months and it didn't help.

I believe the strep was in my intestines. I've only had a sore throat maybe 4 times a year for a couple days. Now early onset I had sore throat for 2 months. But strep can be located in any part of the body.

Take care, Pam
