In looking back at the different cold maladies I have encountered over the years, the one constant has been I always had a throat virus.

My mom always use to say that every person has a weak part physically and mine was my throat.

I think that I read here that that people that consistently get virus infections in their throats are more likely to have lyme. Is that true?

Please let me know.

Borrelia does weaken the immune system so it's possible, I'd say even probable.

Thank you for your reply.

My issue is this, if I get sick, the problem is always with my throat and nowhere else.

If my entire immune system was weaken, would I be facing problems everywhere?

just my two cents...

I was bit by a tick in 2000 actually pulled it off of me...so i know i was bit. I was sick with a sore throat after that....it never went away. No lie it lasted for 3 months and was only on one side. My doctor couldnt figure it out....all labs came back neg...you know the deal. Looking back..ive been sick a lot and mostly with sore throats as well. Tylenol sore throat liquid was what i carried with me everywhere!!!

In may i came down with a terrible sore throat again...after a hiatus from sore throats. I thought is was odd, but never thought it would be the start of what i am going thru right now...but it was.

IF it's strep (this is all speculation) then the entry site is probably oral. Unlike Bb or Staph, Strep has a chain like growth. So for it to become systemic it must first infect your throat and tonsils and then move slowly in a chain like fashion to become systemic.

Isn't a chronic sore throat a bartonella symptom?
