This probably would be directed at mostly those with previous MS diagnosis...I think.

If you were on Interferon before being diagnosed with Lyme, were you taken off the Interferon before Lyme treatment began?. If so, did you go off slowly or cold turkey? Did you have a major flair as your immune system came back on line?

I was dx'd with Ms over 4 years ago and was on Avonex Interferon for 9 months and steadily got worse while on it until my immune system crashed. I stopped cold turkey on the advice of the Avonex nurse in August 04 and was just diagnosed with Lyme in September 05. I was also given a 3 day Solumedrol steroid infusion which was the worst thing for someone with Lyme.

The first thing my LLMD did was to put me on some immunity building homeopathics, vitamins and minerals. I just started Doxycycline and a Detox homeopathic from Heel USA. Do you have MS caused by Lyme?

I don't have an MS diagnsois but my mom does. She has done fantastic on the Avonex, but I think she finally understands that here imuune system has been shut down which gives her relief from the Lyme symptoms which are so much due to the immune system. She believes that she actually has Lyme now and that they are likely growing in number thanks to the Avonex.

She is willing to finally quit the interferon, but now I am afraid of what might happen when her immune system comes back on line if she stops cold turkey. You said you spoke to an Avonex nurse? How do you go about doing that?
