Our daughter, Nikki, has LD, Bartonella & Babesia. Her LLMD is Dr. H from Nevada City, CA. She's currently on triple abx; Zithromax, Plaquenil & Mepron.

Her symptoms are improving; however, she has developed a large lump or cyst on her left wrist. The lump has grown over the past week from ~1/2 inch to over 3 inches in length.

The lump is causing quite a bit of pain, immobility of her left arm/hand and of course, worry on her part.

Has anyone else experienced these types of cysts or lumps? If so do they seem to be related to the bacteria/parasites or the abx?

Any help would be appreciated. Her next appt with Dr. H is not until mid-January. OBTW, family GP had wrist x-rayed - negative.

Good evening Lymedad,

Yes, Ganglion cysts are common with LD. If you will do a search here, you will find a few older posts on this.

I would assume that the uncomfortable feeling is mainly from the size of this cyst rather than from another reason...but, as always, it would be best to see what the doc thinks.

My best,

I have had the cysts come and go on both of my wrists for 15 yrs. + most likely around when I contracted Lyme. The drs. including my LLMD have not shown concern and in time they have disappeared as quickly as they appeared. My 6 yr. old son has had them on his spine and rib cage and they appear and disappear in a matter of a week. We followed up on this also and it was never conclusive. The only thing we do know is that we both have Lyme and it seems to be a common symptom among us "Lymies". I also have the numbness and loss of use isssues but that honestly didn't begin until I started getting on more medication this year. Has her LLMD been helpful? Mine felt they were not related.- I wish I could say for sure. Wishing you all good luck, health and happiness.

Tina,

The cysts have only begun showing up over the past couple of weeks and she doesn't have an appointment with her LLMD until mid-January.

Thanks,

LymeDad

I'll be honest. I don't really know the difference between a cyst and a lump, so I'll just call what I had a "lump."

Years ago I developed a golf ball sized lump on the outside of my left wrist. It was not large enough to interfere with the use of my hand and it didn't hurt. It disappeared after a few weeks.

I also developed one at the base of my spine, to the right of my tail bone at about the same time. That one has just disappeared after approximately 8 years.

I did not investigate their causes or make up, but had they caused me pain I probably would have.

I'm currently a month into babesia treatment, zith and mepron.

While this combo is resolving some symptoms for me (pain, fatigue, dizziness, bells palsy, sweating, hot flashes, sensitivity to stimuli and orthostatic intolerance)it is causing others.

Its hard to describe but I feel my legs are retaining fluid and are achy. I think my tendons are being affected too.

However, I used my light beam generator (a microcurrent detox machine by ELF labs) on my legs and inguinols this am and the achiness is gone and I released a lot of fluid.

So the build up of toxins and or fluids is an issue for me on this treatment and maybe for your daughter as well?

I once heard a cyst defined as a fluid filled sack. We all hold on to toxins differently.

Perhaps doing more detoxing will help your daughter? There are many methods and I would employ as many as possible (all the lifestyle stuff) but would focus on lymph drainage massage and perhaps accupuncture.

All the best and keep us posted.
