I'm in the middle of transistioning treatments while keeping my gallbladder from being a lyme memento and had a llmd suggest to me that using Biaxin along with Rifampin would be an okay combo to try.
I had good results with the Biaxin last year for lyme (before postive Bart test had come into picture) and he suggested that it would be a good abx to use along with Rifampin to tackle the Bart.
This is of course done while having proper blood tests and such to keep an eye on liver, wbc etc... Anyone heard of this combo working?

it's a pretty standard treatment for bart. Sounds like your doc substituted biaxin for zithromax because biaxin is a lot cheaper. Zith might be more effective but not necessarily. I think the prices on zith are coming down soon though- generics.
search for the posts on rifampin/zith for bart- it's simular. Biaxin and zith are both macroloids.
