Im sitting here annoyed at the ducks. First i had a UTI because nitrates came back high upon a urine sample.......and then no bacteria was able to grow so now i dont have one. meanwhile they ruined my lyme treatment.
I was on levaquin for 2 days then bactrim for 3...yet when i needed the abx back in Septmember i could not get them.
Im so mad and frustrated, my symptoms are all out of sorts...odd things going on all over the place....i feel run down, weepy, tongue and throat are coated.... Urologists are all booked for months....cant even get an ultra sound scheduled.....i give up.
Im waiting for my LLMD to call, i want to ask him what his thoughts are on the UTI/nitrates....the diflicun...etc. i see him in a week and i havent even taken one week of the abx he prescribed.....:-( My mom is really nagging me like i am normal...i left my pan on the stove because I cant stand for too long without having to pee.....she acts like i am normal. Its horrible. So, im in my room, my cave right now....and that is where i will stay.

dear can't, i know what you are going through right now; i get the same nag from my family about leaving things on the stove or whatever-i've ruined so many pans it's not funny.also went through the same business about possible UTIs with ducks for 4 years. my family has no clue about what Lyme does to the body, either, so i get no sympathy when i'm in the john so many times every day. there's one thing i found that helped, though- dMannose. i only took it for several weeks because it is expensive, but things are better now, not so much pain and urgency like before. you might want to try it. i got mine at the local health shop; it's called UTract, costs about $35. good luck!

Hang in there cantgiveupyet. You'll make it through this.
Somehow, somewhere, there has to be a reason we all are going through such hell. I can't imagine what that is, but sometimes it helps me thinking that possibly I am learning something I'm supposed to learn.
If that's so, I think we should have learned it by now!! I'm sorry, the post probably sounds stupid. I'm having a tough time right now too. I wish I could take your pain away. Know that we understand and that we care.

HEY, you all; WHY do you think I got started on Herbs to try to treat this thing?
I have been fighting MY duck for almost 6 years now. He won't give me any more abx other than when he first treated me with Cipro for 24 days. And the doxy for ten days this past summer for a sore throat.
He feels the Cipro would have CURED the Lyme 5.5 years ago, FOR SURE, so no reason to give me any more abx, and no sense in taking a Lyme test as it will show antigens for the disease for the rest of my life.
So, there for in November, I got the Healing Lyme book, and the rest is becoming history. I am feeling many, many times better on the regimen I am on, and hope to totally eliminate this garbage bug from my body within a few months.
I too was fatigued ALL the time. But since have been taking the herbs, there is some spring to my step, AND I like I said I feel many times better, overall. And the brain fog is gone and I can see excellent again, too. Plus MOST of the pain is gone in my body. Some days, since I have been on the Tetracycline, I get a little pain, but nothing like it was before.

Gosh can't,
I feel so bad for you. Especially the burning pans stuff.
You know the only real reason this is happening to us is because we were infected with a bad bacteria. No deeper meanings than that, although at times I think God wanted me to learn to slow down. Boy, have I slooowweed down.
I'm on homeopathy which addresses much more than just the lyme. It also deals with sleep and mood issues, nutrient deficiencies in my body, and other non-lyme infections that have lingered in my cells, therefore, even though I have the joint pain brought on by herxing, I do not have the fatigue and emotional issues you guys are having. This really helps me deal with the pain.
I am being treated by a very lyme literate MD who is also highly trained in alternative medicine. He is a board certified homeopath.
Holistic treatment always looks at the entire picture of the patient, not just the current symptoms. In addition to Lyme specific remedies, he has prescribed mood and sleep enhancers, trace minerals and vitamins where he found me deficient as well as remedies for some other bacterial infections he found. What he prescribed for me is not necessarily what he would prescribe for you.
I believe this thorough and knowledgeable analysis is the key element to why the remedies are having such success. If I were to try to do this on my own, or with someone less trained, I do not believe I would see such positive results.
If you can find someone as qualified, you might want to give this a try. My LLMD is in Rockville, MD.

I thought I'd throw my 2 cents worth in here. I had a bout with chronic UTI's and one of the products that helped me was CranActin. It is from the health food store, not too expensive (10-15$$) and is concentrated cranberrry. One tablet is like drinking 20 glasses of juice or something like that. It helped me break the cycle of UTI's and antibiotics. Gosh, those are uncomfortable too I remember!
Hang in there!

Man! I hope you get a break soon.
I understand about all the ducks. I try to just see my LLMD. Unfortunately I do have to see an endo duck every 6 months to get my synthroid but at least my LLMD knows him.
I won't go to the urologist or eye duck or gyno. Maybe when I'm well. I know alot of people would advise against it but it works for me.
I'm also not interested in going to my general practioner. Even though he's great and a possible LLMD in training........ Just can't.
Those cheap cranberry pills worked for me but my problem wasn't as bad as yours.
Good luck,

i do have some of those cranactin tabs i will try a few of them and see how it goes. Im a tad better, but i think its going to take some time for this one. I am watching the diet no sugars.
Its tough for me sometimes because my LLMD is a bit of a drive 1.5 hrs, so if i think its something serious i go to the ducks :-/ I did run the symptoms by my LLMd but since the duck said UTI and the culture wasnt back...it was a tough call.
