I must admit, I don't know much about the political issues with lyme, but from recent posts that I have seen, cash is an issue. Cash is always an issue with the patients too so I have come up with an idea that involves the public, who have more cash than a small group.
This is just an idea at the moment and may just be silly, so I would appreciate your thoughts..
What if a fund could raise money by selling a product (nothing to do with lyme). A product that could be made by ?? 100+ people, jointly on this board.. Something we could all join in and make. Something that could be downloaded from the internet and the whole process automated so that the credit card they pay with goes straight into the fund.
I don't have any experience in writing books, but if we could come up with a subject that people would pay money for and sell it in the form of a downloadable ebook, perhaps many of us could write a page or two towards it.
Then we just leave it going to accumulate cash for such an occasion as this - or research. In fact, when this is done once, we don't have to stop there. Write another one for the same fund.
One thing though, it has to be good information AND something that is worth the money the person bought it for. For instance, "The dog breed directory" and later, "Caring for your dog" and later "Dog health tips" - or something..
"Bringing up your child in today's world" and then "Teaching your child math" etc.
If it fails and doesn't make any cash, we will have lost our time and may be $100.00 for a web site to sell it, but we will have gained experience on how not to do it. So we can come up with another idea that will work.
Well I guess you get gist of it by now - call me crazy - just an idea and I don't know if we could get much out of it by the time Dr. Jones needs it most but if it is never started, it will not happen.

I have a site that you could use space on to build a website. I think I have some extra addresses too so we could come up with a catchy url name.
I just don't have much strength to create/design/build a site as my own business is languishing . . .
I think your idea is great and very creative. I may even have some writing to contribute . . .
Cheers,
Alison
