Well, just started 100 mg. of Diflucan twice a day, today.
Wanted to hear from any of you that are also doing this as your only treatment right now.
Would love to hear any good, bad, and ugly of how you're doing, herxing, remission, etc.
Let me know. I know my Dr. (Dr. P.) feels it's a good treatment, especially when standard abx's have not worked, like in my case

Hi Dave! My 18 yr old son has done two rounds of this protocol. He has a lot of neuro lyme. One of his main symptoms are fatigue and insomnia. He would cycle every 3 weeks from sleeping at night to being up all night then back again 3 weeks later. He was resistant to most sleep meds and any attempt to change the pattern. He now sleeps all night long. He still has some nights where he doesn't sleep well, but he has not done the day/night reversal in over 2 months. So, he has atleast seen that improvement.
The fatigue continues, but I think he has some co-infections we need to deal with before he conquers that.
Take the Diflucan with food in your stomach otherwise it can cause nausea. Usually the first few days you will herx feeling like you have the flu. I actually get to the point where I feel better taking Diflucan than the days that I don't.
Ask your doc, but you can take the whole dose at one time. I actually start my son on 100mg a day and work up. That way the herx is not so hard to deal with. Also, Diflucan can accumulate in your system because of the long half life. So find out what doc wants you to do when you start herxing too much. I back off for a day or two with my son. This next time I am going to try 4 days on and 3 days off to minimize his herx and see if he can function a little more.
Wish you success with this treatment. Karen

I recently finished a 30 day round of 200mg Diflucan, added to the modest amount of amoxicillin and sometimes artemisinin I had been taking.
I noticed some increase in dizziness and some night sweats while on the diflucan, but nothing intolerable. It seems to deamatically increase the effect of a penicillin type drug, judging by the herxheimer and later symptom improvement.
It seems to have done me alot of good. It is good stuff IMO.
Liver function should be monitored on this med, and my LLMD shows alot of caution in that regard. I was favorably impressed by this drug for its potential as a Lyme treatment.
