I know this will be a strange question......but has anyone experienced problems with really oily hair....oily skin.....and excess oil/moisture in the ears?
Hubby is having these problems now. Washes and rinses his hair 3-4 times with each daily shower, but his hair still looks oily 4 hours later?? He's never had a problem before this.
Is this something strange after 3 months of ABX? Is something happenening (good i hope!) with his system?
I know.....weird.....but figured someone might know about this. THanks!

This is interesting. I normally have horriblly dry skin and hair but I have noticed more oil than normal. Never used to be able to tell that my hair needed to be washed now I can. I am hoping to that it is a good thing kind of like body systems coming in line. Thought maybe it could be a herx to toxins tring to get out.

I have noticed excess oil and crustiness in ears. Nothing else. I am mainly on homeopathics, although I am completing a 30 day dose of Ketek. I was noticing the increased ear stuff prior to the Ketek, so don't think that is it. In the beginning of homeopathic treatment, I could literally hear the bacteria running out of my left ear followed by a burning sensation down the left side of my neck in the gland area. My left jaw hinge was very tender and swollen for days afterward. I also felt little bugs running along my arm. This was only in the beginning and I have since read that it was the bacteria trying to escape. My hearing has improved dramatically, but I continue to have to clean those ears daily. Off and on, both my ears will hurt as if the ear canal was extra clear and the very air was hurting it. This has been a minor side effect.

Niki, I'm wondering the same thing...I just haven't heard of this before. I first noticed it in hubby a couple of weeks ago. Just seems to be getting worse.
I am hoping it's a good thing...or a sign that his immune system, something is getting back to normal?
Are you on antibiotics? How long?
It's just strange....don't recall reading about this anywhere.
Thanks for your response. Hope you're feeling better!

I had this early in my illness for about 2 weeks. That was 5.5 yrs ago. It was the strangest thing to one day find your hair excessively oily. It was among a very long list of weird things going on with me that told me something is NOT right.

Yep, that's so funny! My DH has had that for about a week now... seemed to correspond with going on IV abx (Rocephin). We thought it was just coincidence, but this makes sense!
He's never had oily hair, in fact he's usually flaky and dry in the winter.

Excess oil could be a sign of toxins being released from the body, just as that "horrible" smell that emerges from the armpits is IMO also. Toxins are oily and get out of your body anyway they can.
