My Dad, Mom, sister were all on NONI for their various illnesses...not lyme; 2 were cancer & 1 was heart/diabetes.

NONi did NOT help anyone. Also very suspicious since the label will NOT show what the ingredients are!

I tried it too; won't waste my money on it.

I bought it by the case...I took the concentrated dose 3-4x a day. For a year. Sorry it did not help.

I started on vit b-12 injections over a year ago...these have helped me a ton!

I take 1000mg 1-2x a week, my nuerologist now LLMD perscibe it. My headaches finally subsided after 6 yrs. and it has helped my energy.

Blessings to you and your son, Shar <><

I just started Noni juice. I think you all have a different kind than I do. Mine is not from concentrate and is the pure juice. The container is glass and lists ALL ingredients and the nutritional information.

Noni helps boost the immune system. I know several people (not lyme folks though) that have benefitted tremendously from Noni juice.

I just started Ketek and it says NOT to have any grapefruit juice with it. I am going to double check with my LLMD about the Noni before continuing, but think its okay.

blackbirdsings, your post made me stop and go "Oh no!". I'm on Ketek too, and I love grapefruit. If my MD told me not to eat grapefruit, I must have forgotten. After I read your post I went online and then read the drug info sheet the pharmacy just gave me w/the refill I just got.

It wasn't under "precautions" or "drug interactions". It was under "how to use". However, it didn't say not to have grapefruit, it says to "limit the amount of grapefruit or grapefuit juice you eat or drink to less than 8oz or 240ml per day.

Well, maybe I'll be ok. I'll have to see how my next set of lfts come out. I was just off abx for a month due to elevated enzymes, but I hadn't been taking milk thistle or alpha lipoic acid when I first started abx. After restarting abx for two weeks, my lfts were unchanged from their recently lowered level.

What a bummer! And to think the only reason I read this thread was because I wondered what people take Noni juice for, and what they think of it.

GRAPEFRUIT juice and Ketek are both inhibitors of the P450 family 3A4 metabolic pathway. They aren't working against each other - rather they're both doeing the same thing - so
Taken together will be an additive effect on 3A4 inhibition.

You really need to know how all these substances are interacting. So should probably look up Noni juice - Just remember that 50% of what we put in our mouths use the P450 metabolic pathways, and there are alot of interactions people should be aware of.
