LLMD ran another WB on my husband and it showed positive for past infection. He hasn't talked to the doc yet but results were mailed to us from the docs office. I was wondering what everyone thinks of this?

He's sort of in denial about lyme even though he's had 4 bulls eye rashes as a child in Houston. Due to horrible back pain he's just not sure if he has lyme symptoms since he takes alot of pain meds.

How did you determine that it was for "past" infection? Standard rules if IgG and IgM don't apply so well with Lyme...

I know someone wh also had Lyme.

The first and most debilitating symptom was lower back pain in the s12 area.

The pain was there but there was no sign of organic damage via x-ray, MRI or bone scan.

Oral Antibiotics made the problem disapear.

So if the question is is it possible?

I would say yes and I have unequivocally seen it occur.

I assume the IgG was lit up, What where the bands and intensities?

Also tell him you CAN get rid of lyme, just don't leave until it is too late.

Finally if he still resists then tell him that (at least in my mind), antibiotics are a lot better to take than pain killers so if the Dr says so why not give it a try.

You can also tell him that if he does have lyme and does not treat it he may end up like me, which is in fact a sad (but true) comment.....

Scott,

His doc wrote and circled past infection positive. I'm just not sure what that means. In my mind I definitely think it's lyme. the bands did light up and he was very positive.

Hi snowboarder! You need to read Dr C's handout on the Western Blot again. He discusses the IgG and IgM at length.

Hey lady!

Does your dh even remember undergoing treatment for Lyme ever? If not, he's got it and needs treatment.

You and I should get together again real soon!!!

My husband treated for 6 months and then quit saying he didn't feel any different and didn't think he really had lyme. I of course say he does due to the bulls eye rashes.

Hello Nancy...I've been thinking about you. Are you going to the lyme support group meeting on 1/28?
